Broad Eligibility

Eligible LPN, RN, and APRN nurse preceptors must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, hold an unrestricted Tennessee or qualifying multistate nursing license, precept qualifying nursing students at an eligible Tennessee practice site, meet current clinical affiliation and training requirements, and complete required Whitecoat documentation and approvals.

Atlas Analysis

Workforce incentive for individual eligible Tennessee nurse preceptors. Participants may receive $1,500 after at least 70 approved preceptorship hours and completion of required training and documentation, subject to available funding.

Open for the Fall 2026 incentive cycle. The Tennessee Hospital Association (THA) and Tennessee Center for Health Workforce Development (TCWD) administer the THA Nurse Preceptor Incentive, a State-funded healthcare workforce program designed to increase trained nurse preceptors and clinical placements for nursing students in Tennessee.

Funding

The current THA program page states that an eligible preceptor may receive $1,500 for 70 or more approved preceptorship hours per incentive cycle. One incentive is available per preceptor per cycle. Funding is limited and payments are made in the order complete eligible submissions are received until cycle funds are exhausted. The current page does not state a matching or cost-share requirement.

Fall 2026 Deadlines

The Fall 2026 cycle runs from August 1 through December 1, 2026. December 1 is the last day for qualifying preceptorship hours, and required documentation is due December 10, 2026. The current THA page does not publish a submission clock time or time zone for the December 10 documentation deadline, so Atlas does not infer one.

The same THA page still displays a stale “Summer 2026 – OPEN” label even though its listed Summer documentation deadline was August 10, 2026. Atlas therefore uses the current Fall 2026 dates, not that stale Summer label, to classify the active cycle.

Eligibility

The program is currently limited to nurses precepting student nurses in LPN, RN, or APRN pathways. Each participant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and hold an unrestricted Tennessee nursing license or qualifying multistate compact license. APRN preceptors must be Tennessee-licensed and precept APRN students enrolled in an approved and accredited Tennessee public or private school of nursing. RN and LPN preceptors must provide clinical education for RN or LPN students in an approved and accredited Tennessee public or private school of nursing.

An eligible practice site must be approved by a Tennessee public or private nursing education program for student clinical practice, and the nursing program and clinical facility must have a current clinical affiliation agreement. Precepted hours must be completed in Tennessee. THA also permits students attending approved programs in Alabama, Kentucky, Virginia, Georgia, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Missouri to complete qualifying Tennessee clinical hours.

Required Steps and Submission Mechanics

Participants must identify a qualifying one-to-one student placement, complete an accepted preceptor professional-development course if not previously completed, enroll in the Whitecoat Learning Platform, upload required training documentation, record and submit preceptor hours, and obtain the required school or facility approval of those hours. Payment processing follows program review and requires a W-9 and current mailing/contact information.

N9+ and QC Healthcare Relevance

N9+ Fit Score: 0/100. This opportunity pays individual nursing preceptors for qualifying clinical education service. It does not establish a procurement, equipment, telehealth, remote physical examination, or technology acquisition pathway for the Nonagon N9+ device and platform or QC Healthcare. Atlas will not force a vendor fit into this workforce incentive.

Atlas Analysis

Atlas Opportunity Score: 84/100. This is a clearly documented, currently active Tennessee healthcare workforce incentive with defined eligibility, payment amount, training requirements, and Fall 2026 schedule. The score is constrained by limited cycle funding, first-complete-first-paid mechanics, the absence of a published deadline clock time/time zone, and the lack of any legitimate N9+ or QC Healthcare role.

Required Next Action

Eligible Tennessee nurse preceptors should confirm employer-policy compatibility, verify the nursing program and clinical affiliation requirements, complete any required preceptor training, maintain accurate Whitecoat records, obtain the appropriate school or facility approval of hours, complete at least 70 qualifying hours by December 1, and submit all required documentation by December 10, 2026. Because funds are limited, complete requirements promptly rather than waiting until the documentation deadline.
