The County of Kauaʻi Office of the Mayor FY2027 Grant-in-Aid supports nonprofit-led projects and activities that provide benefits to the people of Kauaʻi through services addressing a distinctive cultural, social, or economic need for which adequate federal or state funding cannot be secured. Eligible nonprofit organizations may request up to $20,000.

Current Deadline

The County announced on September 14, 2026 that the FY2027 Grant-in-Aid deadline was extended from September 11 to September 30, 2026 at 4:30 p.m. HST. This is a received-by deadline, not a postmark deadline.

Project Period

The County’s August 11, 2026 notice states that the project funding period is October 16, 2026 through October 15, 2027.

Eligibility and Program Purpose

The County’s current notices identify eligible applicants as nonprofit organizations and describe the program as supporting community projects and services that meet distinctive cultural, social, or economic needs in Kauaʻi when adequate federal or state funding cannot be secured.

Match, Allowable Costs, Forms, and Submission Details

Atlas has not yet verified the current FY2027 RFP packet’s match or cost-share rules, detailed allowable and prohibited costs, required forms and attachments, or complete submission mechanics from a retrievable authoritative packet. The opportunity therefore remains in Draft under the Hawaii lane’s fail-closed rule. Atlas will not infer these terms from prior-year materials.

Healthcare and N9+ Fit

The program is broad and is not a healthcare or equipment grant. A nonprofit healthcare or public-health project could be relevant only if it independently satisfies the County’s stated community-need purpose and all current solicitation requirements. N9+ is not established as an eligible or appropriate expense and should not be introduced in ordinary initial outreach.
