Nebraska Crime Commission Supplemental FY 2027 Office of Violence Prevention Grant (OVP)
The Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice is accepting supplemental FY2027 Office of Violence Prevention applications for Nebraska violence-prevention projects. The supplemental announcement was released September 4, 2026 and extends the original FY2027 OVP RFA; all original OVP requirements and restrictions continue to apply.
Funding and Purpose
Approximately $600,000 in supplemental funding is available. Funds must be used exclusively to address one or more of the following: reduction of street or gang violence, reduction of homicides and injuries caused by firearms, and youth employment in high-crime areas. The award period is November 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.
Eligibility
The supplemental announcement limits applicants to community-based agencies or organizations, political subdivisions, school districts, federally recognized or state-recognized Indian tribes, or combinations of those entities. Applicants must also comply with the inherited requirements of the FY2027 OVP RFA.
Deadline Verification Alert
Applications are due October 5, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. The Nebraska Crime Commission’s live Grant Announcements page states 5:00 p.m. CDT, while the official Supplemental Funding Announcement PDF states 5:00 p.m. CST. Because the two official sources conflict, applicants should confirm the controlling time zone directly with the Nebraska Crime Commission before relying on the exact clock deadline. Atlas will not infer which abbreviation controls.
Application Method
Applications must be submitted in Euna using the Supplemental OVP Application Template. Email and paper applications are not accepted, and the Commission states that no extensions will be granted.
Key Underlying RFA Requirements
The original FY2027 OVP RFA remains controlling for requirements not replaced by the supplemental announcement. Costs must be direct, allocable, actual, reasonable, and necessary. The program is reimbursement-based, indirect organizational costs are not allowed, and construction or capital-facility costs are not allowable. Certain program equipment may be considered case by case when reasonable and necessary. No fixed mandatory match percentage was identified in the controlling materials reviewed; sustainability and other funding or match resources may affect scoring.
Atlas Assessment
Atlas Opportunity Score: 82/100. This is a credible, current Nebraska-administered public-safety funding opportunity with substantial supplemental funding and a clear eligible-applicant structure. N9+ Fit: 5/100. The solicitation is focused on violence prevention and youth employment, not healthcare technology, and equipment is only allowable case by case when directly necessary. QC Healthcare direct fit: 0/100. No direct for-profit applicant path is established. Ordinary Atlas outreach should not introduce or sell N9+.
