Atlas Analysis

Official-source verified November 7, 2026: read 2027 AAP CATCH Planning six-page controlling CFP at https://downloads.aap.org/AAP/PDF/catchplancall.pdf, current AAP portal programs listing and 2027 grant timeline, plus Budget Guidance Supplement. Distinct from the AAP Implementation mechanism: Planning-stage community child-health project; no pilot services or implementation activities may be funded. $10,000 is individual award, not program pool; no mandatory universal match percentage listed. Direct individual clinician application (with fiscal-agent letter), not a government procurement. Exact deadline Jan 19 2027 11:59pm CST. All 2027 applicant terms source-verified; older generic AAP page contains stale 2026 dates, so current CFP and portal control.

2027 American Academy of Pediatrics CATCH Planning Grants

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) 2027 Community Access to Child Health (CATCH) Planning grant competition provides $10,000 per eligible individual clinician applicant for a 12-month community-based project increasing pediatric access to health services or child and adolescent well-being in the United States, territories or Canada.

Eligible Applicants

General pediatricians, pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists, pediatric fellowship trainees and pediatric advanced practice providers who name a pediatrician as co-applicant may qualify. AAP national and chapter membership must be current before grant funds are disbursed. Current CATCH grantees cannot apply; previous grantees must have closed earlier CATCH awards. Applicants may submit only one of Planning or Implementation during the cycle. Projects must reach children beyond the applicant’s own practice setting and establish genuine local community partnerships.

Planning Project Requirements

planning and developing a new community-based intervention, including community needs analysis, identifying health disparities, convening youth/family voices, partnership planning and developing an evaluation strategy. Pilot programs or direct service implementation are NOT eligible within a Planning Grant.

A special environmental-justice child-health priority is included within the regular CATCH competition and follows the same basic application requirements; applicants must explain the qualifying environmental issue and impact. It is not a separate unrestricted grant.
