Funding Watch Overview
Connecticut’s Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security has confirmed that additional funding has been allocated for another round of the School Security Grant Program (SSGP). Program staff are currently developing the application and finalizing the timeline. The next round is not yet accepting applications, so Atlas is publishing this as a verified Funding Watch rather than recycling prior-round deadlines, award limits, or eligibility rules.
What the Program Supports
The School Security Competitive Grant Program is designed for school security infrastructure. Connecticut’s current program overview identifies examples such as doors and windows, access-control systems, perimeter security, surveillance cameras, panic alarms, and related physical-security improvements. Connecticut separately administers the Multi-Media School Security Grant Program for systems that create direct communications with law enforcement.
Funding and Deadline
Funding amount: To be announced. Connecticut has confirmed that additional funding is allocated, but it has not yet published the next-round funding pool, applicant ceiling, reimbursement structure, application opening date, or deadline. Atlas will not carry forward dollar limits or timing from an older round as if they control the new one.
Eligibility
The controlling next-round application has not yet been released. Schools and education entities should not assume that an earlier round’s applicant rules, match requirements, reimbursement percentages, or eligible-cost rules will remain unchanged. Atlas will update this record when DEMHS publishes the new application package.
Atlas Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 90/100. This is a high-value school infrastructure watch because Connecticut has already confirmed another funded round is coming, which gives school systems time to prepare before the application window opens.
N9+ Direct Vendor Fit: 0/100. The verified SSGP purpose is school security infrastructure, not clinical care, telehealth, remote physical examination, or healthcare technology. Atlas will not manufacture a Dr. Miltie commercial pathway.
Best Preparation Now
Potential applicants should review their current school safety and security plans, identify the highest-priority physical-security gaps, document the need for each proposed improvement, gather preliminary vendor scopes and budgetary estimates where appropriate, and monitor the official DEMHS SSGP Apply and News pages. Do not treat a project as eligible or submit anything until Connecticut publishes the controlling next-round application.
