Open West Virginia STEM education opportunity. Eligible Applicants and Event Scope
The RFP is limited to WVSGC Affiliate institutions. Proposed events must be held during the school day in the Spring or Summer of the 2026–2027 academic year. A structured day-camp format on a non-instructional day may also be proposed when appropriate for the intended audience.
Examples of supported activities include hands-on demonstrations and experiments, interactive workshops, guest speakers and STEM professionals, and educational exhibits and presentations.
Allowable Costs
Allowable costs include food and beverages, facility costs, qualifying personnel assisting with the event, STEM-related or NASA-themed activity kits, educational and promotional materials, printing, and guest-speaker honoraria. Faculty salaries are not allowed. The RFP does not state a separate applicant cost-share requirement.
Application Requirements
The proposal must include a narrative of no more than two pages describing the event, goals, outcomes, activities, schedule, project lead, supporting personnel and target audience; an itemized budget and budget justification; and a project timeline. Awardees must submit a final report within 30 days after the event.
Atlas Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 82/100. This is a clear, currently open West Virginia education grant with an exact deadline and straightforward application. The award is small and applicant eligibility is restricted to WVSGC Affiliates, but the program directly supports STEM education and K–12 engagement.
N9+ Fit: 0/100. QC Healthcare Fit: 0/100. Dr. Miltie direct-applicant fit: 0/100. The RFP is centered on NASA/STEM outreach and does not establish a healthcare, telehealth, remote-exam, clinical-services or medical-device pathway. Atlas should not force a healthcare vendor fit into this opportunity.
