The Sparklight Charitable Giving Fund — Fall 2026 supports nonprofit and public-purpose projects in communities where Sparklight or another Cable One family brand does business. Sparklight’s current materials identify three priority areas: education and digital literacy, hunger relief and food insecurity, and community development.
Funding and allowable uses
Sparklight states that it awards approximately $250,000 each year through the Charitable Giving Fund across its service footprint. Current guidance supports specific projects that expand programs or build capacity and capital campaigns that improve space or infrastructure. Routine operating costs, recurring annual programs, scholarships, seed or sole-source funding, endowments, conferences, seminars, fundraising events, political activity, and general religious operations are generally excluded. The current public Fall 2026 materials do not state a per-applicant award minimum or maximum.
Timeline and submission
The Fall 2026 application window opens October 1, 2026 and closes October 31, 2026 by midnight Eastern Time. Requests must be submitted through Sparklight’s online application portal. Award notifications are expected by the end of November.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants must be located in the United States and provide services in a community where Cable One or Sparklight does business. Applicants must be a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit in good standing or a governmental unit under Internal Revenue Code Section 170(c)(1) seeking funds exclusively for public purposes. Sparklight’s 2026 recipient announcements confirm awards to Idaho organizations, including recipients in Boise and Idaho Falls, establishing current Idaho applicability. Organization-specific service-area eligibility must still be verified before outreach.
Source-control hold
Keep this opportunity unpublished on Source Verification Hold. Before ORIGINAL outreach, Atlas must verify the applicant’s exact Sparklight service-area eligibility, the Fall 2026 per-applicant funding range or request cap, match or cost-share requirements, complete portal fields and required documents, project-specific allowable costs, and any amendments or cycle-specific instructions. The application is not open until October 1, 2026.
Atlas assessment
Atlas Opportunity Score 84/100. This is a useful Idaho nonprofit and public-entity opportunity because project expansion, capacity building, and capital infrastructure are expressly contemplated, but the fund’s stated priorities are community development, education/digital literacy, and hunger relief rather than healthcare procurement. N9+ Fit 20/100 conditional, QC Healthcare Fit 5/100, direct-vendor fit 0/100. Ordinary initial outreach must not introduce or sell N9+.
