Atlas Analysis

Strong school-health instructional equipment opportunity. Physical Nonagon N9+ device and platform fit is conditional on approved CTE program alignment, hands-on instructional use, equipment threshold, industry standards, useful life, and Occupational Advisory Committee recommendation. Software and service costs should remain outside the grant budget absent controlling written PDE guidance.

The Pennsylvania Department of Education, Bureau of Career and Technical Education, is accepting applications for the Supplemental Equipment Grants (Non-Matching) (757): 2026-2027. Approximately $20 million in state funds is available through formula-based awards to eligible Pennsylvania school districts and career and technical centers with PDE-approved CTE programs and qualifying 2024-2025 average daily membership. No local match is required.

Applications are due September 17, 2026 at 5:00 PM. PDE does not publish a time zone on the current guidelines. Applications must be submitted through the PDE eGrants system.

Grant funds support instructional equipment and complete tool sets used for hands-on training in PDE-approved CTE programs. Equipment generally must cost at least $3,000 per unit or qualifying bundled set, meet industry standards, be nonexpendable, retain a useful life beyond 12 months, and be recommended by the applicant’s Occupational Advisory Committee before submission. Recent OAC meeting minutes documenting the recommendation are required.

A potential Nonagon N9+ device and platform fit exists for healthcare CTE programs when the physical device is used as qualifying hands-on instructional equipment and the applicant can document program alignment, industry-standard relevance, the required equipment threshold, and prior OAC recommendation. PDE’s current guidance generally treats software and computer-related costs as ineligible except for narrow listed CIP exceptions, so platform, subscription, connectivity, implementation, service, and similar costs should not be included without controlling written PDE guidance.
