The current Foundation website states that grant applications are due October 31, 2026. The Foundation does not publish a cutoff clock time or time zone, so Atlas does not infer one.
Eligibility and funding
Eligible applicants must be qualified 501(c)(3) charities serving southwest Idaho and generally must carry an IRS designation under 509(a)(1), 509(a)(2), or a qualifying 509(a)(3) category identified in the Foundation instructions. The Foundation excludes political or lobbying activity, organizations outside southwest Idaho, special events and fundraising activities, endowments, and grants to individuals. No applicant award cap is published in the current instructions. No mandatory match percentage is stated.
Application requirements
The Foundation prefers online submission and also provides downloadable application materials. Applicants must provide proof of 501(c)(3) status, the prior-year Form 990, current balance sheet and profit and loss statement with prior-year comparables, a program budget showing funding sources to date, a project timeline, the number and groups to be served, and an evaluation plan. The Board reviews applications in November and states that applicants will be notified by December 15.
Healthcare relevance
The Foundation’s own community-grantee materials document support for southwest Idaho healthcare organizations and projects. Examples include Genesis Community Health, where prior Nagel support covered supplies, medical staffing, program coordination, dental software, information-technology equipment and website support, as well as Children’s Free Dental Clinic, Idaho Diabetes Youth Programs, and St. Luke’s Children’s. Those examples support a legitimate healthcare and health-technology pathway, but they do not guarantee that any specific current equipment purchase will be approved.
