The Innovative Technology Education Fund (ITEF) Catapult Technology Infrastructure Grant is open for the 2026 cycle to eligible K-12 schools in qualifying St. Louis-region Missouri ZIP codes. The program supports basic equipment and technology needed to improve teaching and student learning.
Funding and Deadline
Applicants may request up to $30,000. Applications are open September 1 through October 31, 2026. The controlling ITEF page does not publish an exact October 31 submission time or time zone, so Atlas does not infer one.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are schools located in a ZIP code listed by ITEF. The current Missouri eligibility list covers numerous ZIP codes in the St. Louis metropolitan region and nearby Missouri communities. St. Louis Public Schools are specifically excluded from direct ITEF grants at this time and are directed to St. Louis Education Fund opportunities instead. ITEF gives priority consideration to schools where at least 50% of students receive free or reduced-price meals. Schools receiving a Catapult award must wait one full grant cycle before reapplying, so prior Catapult award history must be checked before an application is advanced.
Allowable and Ineligible Uses
The Catapult program is for basic equipment and/or technology such as devices and technology infrastructure. An application may include professional development tied to implementation of the new technology, but the professional-development line item may not exceed 25% of the total request. ITEF states that individual scholarships, annual appeals, endowments, political activities, and faith-based organizations are not supported, except when a faith-based organization supports an accredited K-12 educational institution.
Submission and Contact
Applications are submitted through ITEF’s Foundant grant portal. Applicants may contact ITEF at ITEF@innovteched.com to schedule a brief virtual or telephone discussion about a grant idea. ITEF states that staff will not review Catapult application drafts before submission. Grant partners are expected to submit an outcomes report.
Atlas Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 83/100. N9+ Fit: 55/100 conditional. This is a legitimate K-12 technology/equipment opportunity, but it is not specifically a healthcare, telehealth, or health-science grant. A Nonagon N9+ device and platform could only be considered where an eligible school has a genuine instructional use case, such as a health-science or clinical-skills learning project, and ITEF confirms that the proposed device/platform components qualify as basic educational technology under the Catapult rules. No healthcare fit should be assumed from the broad technology language alone. QC Healthcare/other Dr. Miltie Fit: 20/100 conditional. Dr. Miltie, LLC is not a direct eligible applicant; any role would be as a vendor or project partner to an eligible school, subject to ITEF and school procurement rules.
Next Steps
An interested school should first verify that its ZIP code is on ITEF’s current eligibility list, confirm that it is not barred by the one-cycle Catapult waiting rule, define an instructional technology need, and submit through the official ITEF portal before the published deadline. For any proposed N9+ project, confirm allowability with ITEF before building an applicant-specific grant package.
