Opportunity Overview
The Community Foundation of the Ozarks, in partnership with the Louis L. and Julia Dorothy Coover Charitable Foundation and additional support from the Trust for Civic Life, has opened the 2026 Coover/Rural Schools Partnership Rural Ready Grant Program. The program supports projects that prepare students for a changing world while strengthening the rural communities they call home.
Funding
The current round provides $185,000 in total funding, including $135,000 from the Coover Charitable Foundation and $50,000 from the Trust for Civic Life. Eligible projects may request up to $7,000.
Eligibility
The opportunity is open to school partners of the Community Foundation of the Ozarks Rural Schools Partnership. CFO’s current Rural Schools Partnership criteria state that members are public school districts or school foundations supporting public school districts that have an established CFO relationship through an eligible fund, fund-advisor role, or an active Youth Empowerment Project chapter. This is not a general statewide grant open to every Missouri school.
