Opportunity Overview
The Mississippi Gulf Coast Community Foundation is accepting 2026 applications for the Leo W. Seal Innovative Teacher Grants. Hancock Whitney established the endowed program to recognize educators who develop creative and innovative approaches to helping students learn.
Funding and Deadline
Up to ten grants of up to $2,000 each may be awarded. The Foundation’s current Grant Opportunities page lists an application window of July 1 through September 30, 2026. No application closing clock time or time zone is published on the controlling page, so Atlas does not infer one.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are educators teaching in public or private schools in Forrest, Hancock, Harrison, Jackson, Jefferson Davis, Lamar, Madison, and Pearl River counties. Applicants must not have received this funding within the past five years.
Program Priorities and Restrictions
Projects should be creative and innovative, enhance the classroom or school, and ultimately benefit students, school staff, or a teacher’s professional effectiveness. Projects are evaluated on creativity, innovation, feasibility, and potential impact.
Awards are not intended for staff development or professional training. They also are not intended primarily to purchase computers, tablets, or other technological devices, although technology used as one component of a well-developed comprehensive program may be considered.
Submission
Applications are submitted through the Foundation’s GrantInterface portal. The public guidelines identify the program priorities, applicant eligibility, award size, and key restrictions. The public pages do not state a matching requirement, a separate applicant cap beyond the individual grant ceiling, a mandatory non-federal cost share, or a closing time or time zone.
