The Northland Foundation is accepting applications for its Quarterly Grants program, with the current application deadline on October 1, 2026. The Foundation does not publish a clock time or time zone for this deadline.
Quarterly Grants begin at $10,000. Current public guidance does not publish a universal applicant maximum. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, eligible fiscally sponsored groups, educational institutions and school districts, Tribal nations, and local governmental agencies serving the Northland Foundation region in northeast Minnesota.
The service area includes Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake, and St. Louis counties, as well as all or parts of Bois Forte, Fond du Lac, Grand Portage, Leech Lake District 1, and Mille Lacs District 2.
Health and Wellbeing is an explicit funding priority. Examples identified by the Foundation include free health clinics, oral health programs, and mental health services. Other priority areas include Early Childhood Care and Education and Out of School Time programming.
Applicants should first contact the Foundation at grants@northlandfdn.org with the organization name, a brief description of the proposal and population to be served, and the anticipated request amount. Applications are submitted through the Foundation’s online grants portal.
Required application materials include an annual organization budget for all applicants and, as applicable, a board roster, Form 990 or audit, fiscal sponsor agreement, and a grant request budget for program restricted requests. Current public guidance does not state a mandatory applicant match requirement.
Ineligible requests include primarily capital projects, equipment only requests without a program component, one time camps, trips, conferences or events, student activity subsidies, lobbying or political activity, replacement of cut government services, and for profit businesses under the standard Quarterly Grants program.

A potential Nonagon N9+ device and platform role would need to be embedded in a legitimate eligible health service program rather than proposed as a standalone equipment purchase. QC Healthcare fit is also conditional. Dr. Miltie, LLC is not an eligible direct applicant under the standard Quarterly Grants eligibility rules.
