Opportunity Overview
Current invitation-gated cycle. The Dresher Foundation is a Harford County, Maryland family foundation supporting nonprofit organizations whose work addresses health, education, human services, and civic and cultural needs. Its health priorities expressly include behavioral health, healthy lifestyles, dental care, and special-needs populations.
Current 2026 Cycle
The Foundation operates on a quarterly, multi-step process. October 9, 2026 is the full-application deadline for organizations that were invited forward from the July 10, 2026 Letter of Inquiry cycle. It is also the next LOI deadline for organizations invited into the following cycle, whose full applications are due January 8, 2027. The public schedule does not state a clock-time cutoff.
This is not an unrestricted open-portal application. Every applicant must first contact the Foundation’s Executive Director. After an initial fit conversation, the organization may be invited to submit an LOI; only approved LOIs are invited to a full grant application.
Who Can Apply
Applicants must be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) and not classified as private foundations under section 509(a), and must be based in or manage significant activities in Harford County, Maryland. The Foundation generally does not fund individuals, for-profit entities, fundraising events, organizations that redistribute grant funds, disease-specific national or local chapters, or one-time events, seminars, or workshops. Funding for public and private schools is restricted to institutions with a current Foundation relationship.
Funding and Eligible Uses
The Foundation does not publish a typical grant amount or universal award ceiling; request size is discussed with Foundation staff and is ultimately at trustee discretion. The Foundation states that it provides flexible funding, including unrestricted support, program support, and capital-project support. This flexibility can be meaningful for qualified Harford County health nonprofits, but each proposed cost must fit the approved request and grant terms.
Atlas Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 89/100. This is a high-quality recurring local health-funding pathway with clearly published eligibility, a current October 9 cycle date, and explicit behavioral-health, dental-health, healthy-lifestyle, and special-needs priorities. The principal constraint is the mandatory relationship and invitation process.
N9+ Direct Vendor Fit: 30/100, conditional. The Foundation can support program and capital needs, creating a possible applicant-led equipment pathway, but its published guidance does not specifically authorize connected clinical-exam technology or telehealth equipment. Do not position N9+ as an assumed eligible cost without Foundation confirmation and a mission-aligned nonprofit-led project.
QC Healthcare Fit: 25/100, conditional. Health-service programming can fit the Foundation’s priorities, but the public guidance does not establish a dedicated outsourced physician-coverage or clinical-staffing pathway.
