Opportunity Overview
The Derby Community Foundation is accepting applications for its 2026 Community Enrichment Grant cycle for innovative and meaningful projects that fit the Foundation’s mission and serve residents of the Derby community within USD 260 boundaries. Eligible applicants include verified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, schools, and government or municipal agencies.
Funding & Deadline
Requests may range from $500 to $2,500. The Foundation states that it will award up to $10,000 annually in one competitive grant cycle. Applications opened July 1, 2026 and are due September 30, 2026. The controlling source does not publish an exact closing time or time zone, so applicants should submit well before the calendar deadline.
Eligibility & Geography
Projects must serve residents within the Derby community and USD 260 boundaries. The Foundation verifies nonprofit status, and the organization name on the application must match the name associated with its Tax ID. Schools and government or municipal agencies are expressly eligible. The current controlling page does not publish a match or cost-share requirement.
Application & Controls
Applications must be submitted online through the CommunityGiving Grant Management System with all required sections and supporting documents completed. The Foundation lists several ineligible uses, including clinical or medical research, capital campaigns, debt or deficit financing, endowments, private foundations, real estate acquisition, political projects, and programs promoting a specific religious denomination. Projects funded in the immediately prior Community Enrichment Grant cycle must sit out one year. The Board of Directors makes final funding decisions following reviewer recommendations. Recipients are generally notified 60 to 90 days after the deadline and must complete required reporting.
Atlas Assessment
Atlas Opportunity Score: 54/100. This is a small, broad community grant rather than a healthcare-specific funding program. N9+ Direct Vendor Fit is 0/100. A highly conditional applicant-partner concept could be considered only for a legitimate school-health project that independently fits the Foundation’s rules and for which the Foundation confirms relevant technology or service costs are allowable; Atlas assigns that conditional concept fit 5/100. QC Healthcare Fit is 0/100. Dr. Miltie is not being advanced as a direct applicant.
