Opportunity Overview
The Fund for Greater Hartford Trauma-Informed Practice Fund 2026, Cycle 2 is open to qualifying organizations that work directly with children and want to strengthen trauma-informed practices in the workplace. The Foundation has not published a solicitation or opportunity number for this program.
Funding
Grant requests cannot exceed $5,000. Up to two grants may be awarded per calendar year per applicant. The Foundation states that there is no guarantee the amount requested will be awarded.
Eligibility
Applicants must be tax-exempt under IRS Code Section 501(c)(3) or have a qualifying 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor. Eligible organizations must directly serve a culturally diverse population of children, demonstrate leadership support and staff willingness to participate, show the ability to implement evidence-based trauma-informed practices, create physically and psychologically safe environments, sustain a trauma-informed workforce, and address secondary traumatic stress or compassion fatigue among staff.
Training must be conducted by a professional trainer in trauma-informed practice. The Foundation highly recommends completing the application in partnership with the selected trainer. Trainers may not apply on their own. Eligible organizations may also participate as a group or collaborative.
Eligible Training Costs and Requirements
The required training must include an interactive role-playing component, be part of a series rather than a stand-alone or one-time event, and include an evaluation component. Published examples of eligible costs include trainer fees, trainer travel and lodging, materials, refreshments or food, room reservation, and per diem costs to cover staff absences.
Deadline and Submission
Cycle 2 opened June 15, 2026. Applications are due October 21, 2026 by 4:00 PM. The Foundation does not separately publish a time zone on its current deadline page.
