Broad Eligibility

Eligible Lead Applicants include California public/local agencies, nonprofit organizations, special districts, joint powers authorities, California Native American Tribes, public utilities/local publicly owned utilities, and mutual water companies as specified in the CRC Round 2 Guidelines. School districts are included within the program’s local-agency definition. Implementation projects must satisfy CRC site, partnership, community-engagement, resilience, feasibility, and program requirements.

The California Strategic Growth Council Community Resilience Centers (CRC) Round 2 Implementation Grants fund capital projects and year-round programs and services that strengthen neighborhood resilience to climate emergencies. Approximately $50 million is available for Implementation awards of $1 million to $10 million, with an approximately six-year grant term.

The adopted Round 2 Guidelines expressly identify healthcare services as an example of eligible ongoing CRC service provision. Implementation funding can support capital projects, programs and services at CRC facilities and partner sites, and the Guidelines provide for grant-funded equipment subject to SGC requirements. This creates a legitimate applicant-led pathway for connected remote examination and clinical access when an eligible Lead Applicant builds N9+ and/or QC Healthcare into a community-defined healthcare-service model and the proposed costs are accepted under the controlling application and budget rules.
