2027 Vibrant Villages Barstow Steering Committee Priorities Grant
IEHP Foundation is accepting competitive applications from qualified nonprofits and fiscally sponsored projects to implement community-identified health, wellbeing and inclusion priorities in Barstow, Daggett, Hinkley, Lenwood, Newberry Springs and Yermo, California. This is a direct applicant-facing philanthropic grant, distinct from the Foundation’s 2027 Built Environment Grant.
Applicant Award and Application Deadline
Individual awards are up to $15,000 for projects conducted January 1–September 30, 2027. Applications opened October 2, 2026. The controlling three-page 2027 Grant Summary (extended to October 30) requires submission by October 30, 2026, at 12:00 noon Pacific Time. Official-source discrepancy: the Foundation’s main grant webpage instead lists an extended closing time of 5:00 p.m. Pacific on the same day. To avoid a late submission, applicants should target the earlier noon deadline and seek written confirmation from the Foundation about any later cutoff. The Foundation does not state a total funding pool, mandatory matching percentage or general reimbursement schedule in this public summary.
Eligible Organizations and Projects
Applicants must be nonprofit organizations or fiscally sponsored projects located in or primarily serving the six designated Barstow-region communities. They must have maintained an annual organizational budget of at least $150,000 for each of the preceding three years, remain in good standing with the IRS, keep a current Candid/GuideStar profile, and show capacity to complete a nine-month project. Eligible activities implement one or more community steering committee pillars: basic needs, access to care, economic mobility, and community and social connections. Projects should benefit youth, families with children, older adults, veterans or other identified local populations.
Allowable Activities and Restrictions
Examples include food distribution, emergency resource navigation, cooling and resilience initiatives, health education or screening events, referrals, veteran engagement, career pathways, workforce readiness, entrepreneurship training and community wellness activities. The controlling summary excludes academic scholarships, endowments, awards to individuals, major capital projects, private foundations, retroactive funding, sabbaticals and vehicles. The Foundation requires a grant impact report within six weeks after project completion; its calendar identifies November 15, 2027 as the report due date.
Submission Process
Review the official 2027 Steering Committee Grant Summary and IEHP Foundation’s live grant page. Complete the eligibility screening quiz and submit the application through the Foundation’s grant management portal using the grant-specific link on the official page. Prepare evidence of qualifying nonprofit or fiscal sponsor status, organizational budget history, local-service benefit, project design, outcomes and implementation capacity. Applicants are advised to submit before noon Pacific Time on October 30, 2026 because the two official sources display different cutoff hours. For clarification, contact grants@iehpfoundation.org.
