Texas Women’s Foundation’s 2027 Community Grant Cycle is now open. The North Texas funding program supports eligible nonprofits serving women, girls and their families, with explicit priorities that include affordable healthcare access, maternal and reproductive care, mental and behavioral health, preventive care, dental and general physical health, education, STEMM exposure and workforce pathways.
Funding and Timeline
The maximum grant request is $40,000. One proposal per organization will be considered. Awards support a 12-month period from May 2027 through May 2028, with payment scheduled for June 2027.
The initial application/LOI portal opened September 8, 2026 at 9:00 AM CDT and closes October 6, 2026 at 12:00 noon CDT. Applicants invited to Stage 2 will be notified November 5; invited full proposals are due December 11, 2026 at 12:00 noon CST.
Healthcare and Education Priorities
The FY27 guidelines explicitly support affordable, high-quality, community-focused healthcare for low-income and uninsured women, especially in medically underserved and underfunded communities. Examples include maternal and reproductive care, mental and behavioral health services, preventive care, sexual and reproductive health education, safety and well-being interventions, and work that removes barriers to healthcare quality, accessibility and affordability.
The Foundation also supports educational success and career mobility, including career and technical education, Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Medicine (STEMM) readiness, workforce skill-building, career pathways and wraparound support for apprenticeship and training participants.
Who Can Apply
Applicants must be current 501(c)(3) public charities with at least a three-year operating history. They must serve Dallas, Collin, Denton and Tarrant Counties and immediate surrounding counties, align with the Foundation’s mission and values, and demonstrate that women, girls and their families are centered in the proposed work.
A material eligibility control applies to recent grantees: organizations funded through the Community Grant Cycle in May/June 2024, May/June 2025 or May/June 2026 must sit out for three years before submitting a new Community Grant Cycle proposal.
Support Types and Exclusions
Eligible proposals may request capacity-building, general operating or program/project support. The Foundation does not fund individuals, partisan political projects, pre-award expenses, pass-through grants that ultimately go wholly to another agency, tax-levying organizations, event sponsorships, fundraising campaigns, endowments, individual scholarships, religious proselytizing, or projects inconsistent with its mission and nondiscrimination requirements.
Application Readiness
The Foundation strongly encourages prospective applicants to attend one of two information sessions: an in-person session in Dallas on September 14, 2026 or a virtual session on September 18, 2026. The FY27 guidelines say registration for the September 14 session closes September 10, 2026, without publishing a clock time, so interested applicants should register immediately; registration for the September 18 virtual session closes September 17, 2026. Registration is required because seating/access is controlled.
