Opportunity Overview
Healthbridge Foundation of Greater Waterbury, a supporting organization of Connecticut Community Foundation, is accepting applications for its Fall 2026 Naugatuck healthcare-access grant round. This is the Foundation’s publicly open Fall pathway for organizations based in Naugatuck and/or providing services and support to Borough residents.

Funding
Projects should generally span 2 to 3 years. An award may provide up to $150,000 in total funding, with annual support of up to $50,000 per year. Indirect costs may be included up to 20% of the total program budget.
2026 Priority Areas
- Access and Prevention: programs that increase access to healthcare and preventive services, connect patients with healthcare or health-insurance options, or reduce barriers to care, including transportation to health facilities.
- Treatment and Payments: patient financial support for primary care, infant and maternal care, dental care, and mental-health care, including help with co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket costs for people experiencing financial hardship.
Who Can Apply
Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or a municipal entity seeking funding for a public purpose. Organizations without their own nonprofit status may participate through an eligible nonprofit fiscal sponsor. The applicant’s board must be representative of the community, with a majority who are neither employees nor relatives of employees.
Healthbridge serves 13 Greater Waterbury communities: Beacon Falls, Bethlehem, Cheshire, Middlebury, Naugatuck, Plymouth, Prospect, Southbury, Thomaston, Waterbury, Watertown, Wolcott, and Woodbury. Organizations outside the region may be considered if they demonstrate a meaningful service connection and partnership strategy for residents in the service area.
Important access distinction: the Foundation’s broader Fall 2026 Healthbridge Grant Application is invitation-only. The Naugatuck application is open to qualifying organizations that are based in Naugatuck and/or provide services or support to Naugatuck residents.
Allowability Notes
The published guidance does not fund requests for political or religious purposes and does not fund capital expenditures on buildings that are not owned by a nonprofit. Applicants should tie every proposed cost directly to the Foundation’s healthcare-access, prevention, treatment, or affordability priorities.
