CPRIT's newly released FY 2027 Cycle 2 dissemination RFA provides up to $450,000 over 36 months to scale successful CPRIT-funded cancer prevention and control interventions across Texas. Applications open September 16, 2026 at 7:00 AM CT and close December 8, 2026 at 5:00 PM CT. Eligibility is narrow: the dissemination project must stem from a qualifying completed CPRIT Prevention Program project or an ongoing expansion project.

FundingUp to $450,000 total over a maximum 36-month project period, inclusive of direct and indirect costs. Indirect costs are capped at 5% of the total award. CPRIT permits salary/benefits, project supplies, equipment, outreach/education costs and project-site travel; construction, renovation, infrastructure and lobbying are not allowable.

Required next actionUse CPRIT's FY 2027 Cycle 2 Prevention materials and the new CPRIT Grant Management Platform. Confirm that the proposed project packages and disseminates a successful CPRIT-funded cancer prevention or control intervention, product, or other eligible output; verify applicant and project eligibility under the current RFA; prepare the required application materials in the GMP; and submit during the September 16 through December 8, 2026 application-receipt window.

Broad Eligibility

Texas-based community-based organizations, health institutions, government organizations, public or private companies, colleges/universities and academic health institutions may apply, but only to disseminate a qualifying CPRIT Prevention Program-funded intervention. The underlying project must be a completed CPRIT Prevention project that ended within the last three years or an ongoing expansion project; original preventive-service projects still underway cannot submit a DI application. The Program Director must reside in Texas during project performance, and non-Texas collaborators cannot receive CPRIT funds.

Atlas Analysis

Open FY 2027 Cycle 2 CPRIT Prevention funding supports dissemination and implementation of successful CPRIT-funded cancer prevention and control interventions across Texas. CPRIT currently lists a maximum award of $450,000 for up to three years, with applications accepted September 16 through December 8, 2026. Eligibility depends on a qualifying prior CPRIT-funded intervention, so applicants should verify project lineage, current RFA requirements, allowable costs, required attachments, and submission through the CPRIT grant management platform.

New FY 2027 CPRIT Dissemination Funding

The Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) released RFA P-27.2-DI — Dissemination of CPRIT-Funded Cancer Control Interventions on September 1, 2026. The program funds the statewide spread and implementation of successful CPRIT Prevention Program-supported interventions, products and implementation resources. Applications open in the new CPRIT Grants Management Platform on September 16, 2026 at 7:00 AM CT and are due December 8, 2026 at 5:00 PM CT.

Funding

Applicants may request up to $450,000 total for a project period of up to 36 months. The ceiling covers the entire award period, including direct and indirect costs. Indirect costs are limited to 5% of the total award. Allowable expenses can include salary and benefits, project supplies, equipment, outreach and education costs, and project-personnel travel to project sites. Construction, renovation, other infrastructure costs and lobbying are not allowable.

Who Can Apply

The applicant must be a Texas-based entity, such as a community-based organization, health institution, government organization, public or private company, college or university, or academic health institution. The Program Director must have relevant education and management experience and reside in Texas during project performance. Collaborations are encouraged, but non-Texas collaborators may not receive CPRIT funds.

This mechanism has an important additional gate: it is open only to completed CPRIT Prevention Program-funded projects that ended within the last three years or ongoing expansion projects. A dissemination application may not be submitted while the original preventive-service project is still ongoing. CPRIT allows up to two DI awards per previously funded prevention project and only one DI application per underlying project in a given cycle.

What Competitive Projects Must Do

Projects must package and spread a previously successful CPRIT-funded evidence-based cancer prevention or control intervention to additional Texas partners, settings or populations. Applicants must use two or more active dissemination strategies, such as hands-on technical assistance, replication guides, point-of-decision prompts, targeted implementation guides, training, coaching or consultation. A defined dissemination and implementation framework is required, as are collaborative partners. CPRIT gives particular priority to work that can reduce cancer disparities and reach nonmetropolitan, medically underserved, underinsured, uninsured, geographically isolated or otherwise priority populations.

Atlas Fit Analysis

Atlas Opportunity Score: 90/100. This is a well-defined statewide cancer-prevention opportunity with strong implementation, community-engagement and health-equity value, but eligibility is intentionally narrow because applicants must build from an already successful CPRIT-funded Prevention Program intervention.

N9+ Direct Vendor Fit: 5/100, conditional. The RFA allows equipment, but it is not a general technology-purchase or telehealth grant. Any technology cost must be subordinate to dissemination of the qualifying pre-existing CPRIT-funded intervention and justified within that implementation model. Atlas should not position N9+ as a stand-alone purchase under this RFA.

QC Healthcare Fit: 5/100, conditional. Clinical-service providers may participate in dissemination partnerships, but the mechanism does not establish a stand-alone physician-coverage funding path.

Required Next Action

Confirm that the proposed dissemination effort is tied to a qualifying CPRIT Prevention Program project, identify the product or intervention to be scaled, select at least two active dissemination strategies, secure Texas implementation partners, align the project to the 2024 Texas Cancer Plan and priority populations, build the evaluation and outcome framework, activate or verify access to CPRIT’s new Grants Management Platform, and submit between September 16, 2026 at 7:00 AM CT and December 8, 2026 at 5:00 PM CT.
