Source PDFs confirm 2026-2027 Cycle III deadline November 30, $1,000 classroom and $2,500 grade-level/school-wide, exclusions (tax, food, gift cards, furniture, non-SCPS), leadership approval, required outcome tracking and postaward report deadlines. 2026-2027 Grants for Great Ideas – Cycle III

The Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools offers classroom and school improvement grants to Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS) educators. The remaining fall 2026 grant application cycle closes November 30, 2026. This is applicant-facing educational financial assistance, not a vendor procurement.

Funding amounts

Individual classroom projects may request up to $1,000; grade-level or school-wide projects may request up to $2,500. These are per-project amounts, not a combined program pool. The controlling guidelines do not state a required matching percentage or whether award funds are paid in advance.

Eligible applicants and purposes

Eligible SCPS educators, assistant principals and principals at public elementary, middle, and high schools, Seminole County Virtual School, VPK programs and special centers may apply for projects directly benefiting SCPS students. Charter schools and non-SCPS schools are excluded. The categories are English Language Arts, STEM, Arts and Character Development. Projects must align with school improvement goals, district policy and applicable Florida standards, and must demonstrate measurable student learning or development outcomes.

Allowable and prohibited costs

Allowable project-related expenses include supplemental technology unavailable through the district, consumable classroom supplies, curriculum materials, organized educational field trips, approved online resources and performances, as well as project-related recognition items up to $500. Ineligible costs include sales tax, food and refreshments, gift cards, ordinary furniture, items the school can already fund, routine individual speaking fees, purchases unrelated to the project, and noncompliant instructional materials. All items must remain the property of the school where required.

Application prerequisites and reporting

School leadership must approve the full project before submission. Applicants must complete the official online application and current-year budget form, describe planned activities and how success will be measured, and commit to tracking student and teacher participation and at least one quantifiable outcome. Awardees must spend funds by February 26, 2027, complete the February 12 progress survey, and submit final evaluation and expenditure reports by April 16, 2027. Unspent funds must be returned by March 12, 2027 through the school bookkeeper.
