Applications open; deadline October 30, 2026. Jewish Nevada is accepting applications for its 2027–2029 Johnson Family Security Community Impact Grants, a charitable security-assistance program for eligible Jewish nonprofit institutions serving Nevada. The funder describes this as a three-year competitive grant program, not a government purchasing contract. The official solicitation does not specify a cutoff time or time zone for the October 30 deadline; late applications are not accepted.
Applicant-level funding: Up to $112,500 per facility over three years, with annual maximums of $50,000 in 2027, $37,500 in 2028, and $25,000 in 2029. The program runs January 1, 2027–December 31, 2029. The foundation expects each grantee to fund 25% of its project cost in Year 2 and 50% in Year 3, and sustain costs after the award period. All spending beyond the grant is the applicant’s responsibility. These percentages describe the declining three-year award structure rather than a universal 25% first-year match.
Eligible applicants: Existing Jewish schools, synagogues, and other nonprofit organizations directly serving Nevada’s Jewish community, with federal 501(c)(3) status for at least two years as of December 1, 2026 and an eligible Nevada facility. Organizations with owned or leased facilities can apply. Capital improvements at leased facilities require written landlord permission and disclosure of lease terms. Existing Jewish Nevada grantees must be current on reporting and grant obligations; prior affiliation is not required.
Funded activities: Highest priority is new or increased security personnel or expanded guard coverage addressing documented security gaps. If eligible funding remains, the committee considers new or expanded target-hardening improvements, including access controls, cameras, entry doors, security glazing/film and other specified protective measures. Funding is not for ordinary preexisting security operations without increased coverage, organizations with no Nevada facility, individuals, private foundations, endowments, or projects without adequate readiness and long-term sustainability.
Mandatory readiness and attachments: A Threat Vulnerability Risk Assessment completed within the past year; qualifying Secure Community Network training (two recent trainings or the stated scheduled-training alternative); a current floor plan and security plan; a security-coverage plan for personnel requests; and current year-to-date financial statements. Submit a recent audit when one exists. Applicants without an audit that have budgets of $1 million or more and request $10,001 or more generally need a qualifying financial review/compilation or permitted audit-firm confirmation. Capital projects on leased premises need landlord consent.
Application process: Apply online through Jewish Nevada’s official Submittable application portal by October 30, 2026. Facility site visits are scheduled November 9–December 18, 2026, with status notices expected January 4, 2027. Successful grantees must provide six-month and annual progress reports, a final report, and funder acknowledgment. For questions or possible amendments, consult Jewish Nevada before submission.
