Opportunity Overview
The Nebraska Arts Council Artists in Schools/Communities Sponsor Grant helps eligible Nebraska schools and community organizations hire approved teaching artists from the Nebraska Arts Council Artist Roster for interactive educational sessions, school visits, community visits, or residencies.
Current Funding Cycle
The current floating-deadline program supports requests for three to 30 artist sessions and is part of Nebraska Arts Council’s FY2026-2027 floating grant cycle for projects occurring from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.
Deadline
Applications are due at least six weeks before the program start date. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Funding
Applicants may request $300-$2,000 under the floating-deadline program. No cash match is required. If the selected artist lives more than 30 miles from the program site, travel and accommodation costs are the sponsor’s responsibility.
Eligible Applicants
Eligible applicants include federally tax-exempt nonprofit organizations incorporated in Nebraska, public agencies, governmental subdivisions, and accredited PreK-12 schools. Colleges and universities may apply only when significant public participation and service beyond the campus community are demonstrated.
Program Requirements
Applicants select a teaching artist from the Nebraska Arts Council roster and coordinate the program with the artist before applying. Sessions may be virtual or in person, are limited to one classroom or group at a time, may not exceed one hour each, and are limited to five sessions per day.
Submission
Applications are submitted through the Nebraska Arts Council online grant system after the applicant registers and completes planning with the selected artist.
