Opportunity Overview
The Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County (CFAAC) South County Fund is accepting 2026 applications for school- and community-based initiatives serving vulnerable and at-risk school-age youth in South County, Anne Arundel County, Maryland. The fund is specifically intended to help young people access educational, career-development and health resources and to reduce barriers that can leave lower-income families and youth isolated or disconnected.
Funding and Deadline
Based on available funding, CFAAC will award grants ranging from $250 to $5,000. The 2026 application period opened September 14 and closes November 2, 2026 at 11:59 PM. CFAAC’s public program page does not state a time zone, so applicants should not assume a particular time zone and should submit well before the published cutoff. The funding period is December 1, 2026 through October 31, 2027.
Eligibility
Applicants must be located and operating in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, hold IRS 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, and be current with Maryland Secretary of State charitable-organization registration requirements. Priority is given to organizations based in South County and to applicants demonstrating collaboration with South County nonprofits, schools, faith communities or civic organizations.
Program Priorities
Priority projects are those that facilitate access for vulnerable or at-risk school-age youth to educational, career-development and/or health resources, and those that reduce barriers to youth participation such as food insecurity, lack of child care, transportation limitations and similar obstacles. This creates a legitimate school-health, pediatric-community-health and social-determinants pathway, but it is not a clinical-equipment or technology procurement program.
Application and Reporting Requirements
Applications are submitted through CFAAC’s nonprofit grants process. The public South County Fund page does not publish a separate application template, required-attachment checklist, or match/cost-share requirement. Applicants should complete the current portal questions, provide any portal-requested organizational documentation, and verify all submission requirements before finalizing. CFAAC states that the grant review committee may conduct interviews. A final evaluation assessing project outcomes is required within 30 days after project completion; CFAAC will provide the report format.
Atlas Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 86/100. This is a currently open Maryland opportunity with direct relevance to school-age youth health access, community supports and barriers such as food insecurity and transportation. The geographic scope and award size are narrow, but the fit is strong for small Anne Arundel County nonprofits with a concrete South County youth-serving project.
N9+ Direct Vendor Fit: 0/100. The grant is applicant-led, awards only $250 to $5,000, and does not publish an equipment, connected-clinical-device or vendor procurement pathway. Atlas should not force a technology use case.
QC Healthcare Fit: 15/100, conditional. A limited role may exist only where an eligible nonprofit’s youth-health project legitimately includes clinical or behavioral-health services consistent with the fund’s priorities.
