Opportunity Overview
Verified open West Virginia school and arts education funding opportunity. The West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History currently lists the Arts in Education Mini Grant as open on a rolling basis. The program provides up to $1,000 to public and private PK-12 schools, county school systems, West Virginia 501(c)(3) organizations, and local governments for projects presenting a West Virginia artist in performances, workshops, or other arts education experiences for PK-12 students.
Funding
Applicants may request up to $1,000. The controlling FY27 sample application states that applicants may request up to $1,000 and that there is no matching requirement. Applicants may receive one Arts in Education Mini Grant per fiscal year, and if multiple organizations present the same artist, no more than 20% of the total available Arts Education Mini-Grant funding pool may be awarded to any one artist during the same fiscal year.
Deadline and Timing
This opportunity is listed as Rolling. Because the current official program page does not establish a fixed calendar deadline, closing clock time, or time zone for this mini-grant pathway, no fixed deadline is inferred. Applicants should submit through the current portal with sufficient lead time for the proposed arts education activity and follow any timing requirements presented in the live application.
Eligibility and Program Scope
The current FY27 sample application identifies public and private PK-12 schools or county school systems, West Virginia 501(c)(3) organizations, and local governments as eligible applicants. Individuals are not eligible. Applicants must have existed for at least one year, be current on prior WVDT/WVCA final reports, be in good standing with the West Virginia Secretary of State, have an active SAM.gov UEI and a State of West Virginia vendor number through wvOasis, and not appear on state or federal debarment lists. The funded activity must support a West Virginia artist through performances, workshops, or other arts education experiences for PK-12 students.
Application Requirements
Applications must be submitted through the State Arts Office GOapply grant portal. The current FY27 sample application requires a wvOasis vendor number, UEI, cover sheet, narrative, project budget, signed certification page, artist resume with exhibit/performance/publishing history, work samples, documentation of costs, and signed contracts or letters of agreement where applicable. The project narrative is limited to 1,800 characters. Applicants must also satisfy the applicable ADA certification or Transition Plan requirement, federal/state debarment and eligibility certifications, board approval certification, and applicant-signature requirements. The current public grant page additionally requires State vendor registration and W-9, EFT enrollment through eVendor, and a SAM.gov UEI for organizations.
Atlas Fit Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 86/100. This is a current, official, rolling West Virginia K-12 funding pathway with a defined award ceiling, clear applicant classes, and a direct education purpose.
N9+ Fit Score: 0/100. The controlling program purpose is arts education and does not establish a legitimate role for the Nonagon N9+ device and platform, clinical diagnostics, telehealth, or remote examination. QC Healthcare Fit: 0/100. Dr. Miltie direct-applicant/vendor fit: 0/100 under the verified program scope. Atlas should not force a healthcare or device pathway into this opportunity.
Submission Method
Apply through the West Virginia State Arts Office GOapply grant portal linked from the official Arts Grants page. Review the current sample application before submission and complete the statewide vendor, W-9, EFT, and UEI requirements that apply to the applicant.
