Opportunity Overview
AgWest Farm Credit is accepting 2026 Rural Community Grant requests from nonprofit organizations for projects that improve rural communities in Washington and other states within AgWest’s service territory. The program supports facility improvements, equipment needed to operate a local program, and capital improvements that strengthen rural infrastructure, viability, or prosperity.
Funding and Deadline
Applicants may request up to $5,000. AgWest states that the average award is typically $500 to $2,500. Applications are reviewed monthly. The final day to submit a 2026 request is December 15, 2026. AgWest does not publish an exact closing time or time zone, so Atlas does not infer one. The program is scheduled to reopen January 4, 2027 for the 2027 cycle.
Eligibility and Required Support
Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations working to improve rural communities in Washington or another state within AgWest’s stated service territory. A request must be submitted through AgWest’s online application and must include a written letter of support from a current AgWest employee or an active AgWest customer. The applicant must also show financial backing for the project from other sources. If selected, the organization must provide a W-9 or IRS determination letter.
Eligible and Ineligible Uses
AgWest specifically identifies facility improvements, necessary program equipment, and capital improvements as eligible project types. The program excludes AgWest customers, lobbying or political organizations, fraternal or labor organizations, projects that have raised no funds before applying, projects benefiting individuals, corporations or LLCs, scholarships or sponsorships, operating expenses or advertising, food purchases, fundraising events, travel, sports team or camp sponsorships, deficits already incurred, loans or debt retirement, and annual community events.
Submission and Match
Applications are submitted through the third-party online application linked from the official AgWest program page. The current public page does not identify a separate mandatory downloadable application form, budget workbook, or narrative template. It does not publish a fixed mandatory match percentage or amount, but evidence of financial backing from other sources is required. Questions may be directed to Stewardship@AgWestFC.com.
Washington Healthcare and Community Fit
The program is not limited to healthcare. It may support eligible rural Washington nonprofit projects involving community health, disability access, EMS or public safety, school or community education, or other local-service infrastructure when the proposed expense fits AgWest’s equipment, facility, or capital-improvement rules. A specific applicant must independently satisfy AgWest’s rural-community, nonprofit, support-letter, and financial-backing requirements.
N9+ and Dr. Miltie Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 62/100. N9+ Fit Score: 20/100 conditional. Equipment is an eligible project type, but the $5,000 maximum request and the program’s broad community-development purpose make this a low-priority technology opportunity. Atlas should not force the Nonagon N9+ device and platform into a project. QC Healthcare or other Dr. Miltie fit is 10/100 conditional.
Dr. Miltie direct-applicant fit: 0/100. The program is for nonprofit organizations and expressly excludes projects benefiting corporations or LLCs.
