Opportunity Overview
The AEDGrant.com Corporate Buy-Down Grant Program is a private, manufacturer- and corporate-supported purchase subsidy for automated external defibrillators. The Vermont Department of Health links to the program from its current EMS/AED resources as an option to subsidize AED costs. This is not a Vermont state-funded grant and should not be represented as one.
Funding
An approved award can provide up to $1,300 toward the purchase price of an AED, depending on the model and price range. The exact subsidy is determined after application review. Funding is applied against the AED purchase price; it is not a general-purpose cash award. Applying does not obligate the applicant to purchase an AED.
Who Can Apply
The program states that almost everyone may be considered, including nonprofits, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, dialysis centers, physician and dental offices, urgent care centers, governments, educational institutions, law enforcement, fire and EMS agencies, recreation and fitness facilities, businesses, and individuals. Resellers are expressly ineligible. Vermont applicants are eligible because the program operates in the contiguous United States.
Application and Requirements
The one-page application requests applicant/contact details, entity affiliation, number and preferred brand of AEDs, current AED ownership, emergency medical system activation protocol, interest in CPR/AED training, and agreement to notify local EMS of AED placement. Deadline
The program is currently offered on a rolling basis. No 2026 final closing date, submission time, or time zone is published on the current program materials.
Vermont Compliance Note
The Vermont Department of Health maintains an AED registration process for public-access defibrillators and directs users to its registration tool after placement. Applicants should separately confirm all Vermont placement, registration, training, maintenance, and medical-direction requirements that apply to their setting.
