Community Foundation of Mason County – MCCF, Inc. 2026 Fall Community Grant Program
The Community Foundation of Mason County – MCCF, Inc. and the Gordon & Mildred Jackson Foundation make competitive Community Grants for charitable projects serving Mason County, West Virginia. Grants typically range from $1,000 to $10,000. Requests above $10,000 may be considered for highly collaborative or significant community-wide projects only after the applicant contacts the Foundation in advance.
Deadline: Fall applications must be submitted electronically by September 15, 2026. Late applications are not accepted. The current controlling Foundation pages and online application do not publish a clock time or time zone, so Atlas does not infer one.
Eligibility and geography: Eligible applicants are private nonprofit organizations tax-exempt under IRC Section 501(c)(3) or public institutions such as public schools and government agencies. The applicant must be located in Mason County, West Virginia, or the funded program must serve Mason County residents. Individuals are not eligible.
Funding priorities: Community Impact Grants include Health and Human Services, Education, Youth and Family Services, Arts and Culture, Recreation, Animal Welfare, and Community and Economic Development. The Foundation specifically supports Capital and Equipment Projects, Program Development, Capacity Building, and qualifying Operating Support.
Eligible project structures: Capital and Equipment Grants can support facility renovation or construction, major equipment purchases, and major facility repairs. Program Development grants can support new services and expansion to new audiences. Capacity Building can support technical assistance and training. Operating support is limited to qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations and has additional financial-stability or organizational-capacity requirements.
General exclusions and restrictions: Community Grants generally do not fund annual campaigns, endowments, sectarian religious purposes, political purposes or lobbying, existing obligations or debt, student travel/exchange participation, or labor and wages. Food and beverages are not funded without prior Board approval. Public-school projects require Board of Education approval and principal signoff.
Match/cost share: No mandatory match percentage is stated. The Foundation gives priority to projects that have or seek matching funding to leverage additional resources.
Submission and required documents: The current online application must be completed and submitted electronically. Required uploads include a list of officers/board members and contact information, the most recent fiscal-year financial report, IRS 501(c)(3) designation letter and most recent 990/990-N for nonprofit applicants, the current annual operating budget, a project budget, and actual estimates or invoices for items to be reimbursed. The application requires project description, Mason County impact, beneficiaries, timing, measurable indicators, objectives, budget information, and prior grant history.
Important applicant controls: The live application states that one individual organization or 501(c)(3) may submit only one application per year, subject to limited Foundation-approved exceptions. Organizations receiving an impact grant are not eligible for the immediate next cycle unless the Foundation approves reapplication, and a fully funded project must be complete and paid out before a new request. These are applicant-controlled facts that must be confirmed before submission or outreach.
Atlas Opportunity Score: 90/100. N9+ Fit Score: 70/100, conditional. The program expressly allows major equipment and health/human-services projects. A Mason County healthcare nonprofit could potentially propose the Nonagon N9+ remote physical examination platform as project-specific equipment within an applicant-designed rural-health, screening, access, or outreach initiative. The Foundation does not specifically preapprove telehealth or N9+, and the typical $10,000 ceiling may constrain project structure, so allowability and budget fit must be confirmed rather than assumed.
QC Healthcare Fit: 25/100, conditional. Dr. Miltie direct-applicant fit: 0/100. Dr. Miltie, LLC is not an eligible nonprofit or public applicant. Any legitimate Dr. Miltie role would be as a vendor or project partner within an eligible applicant-led project, subject to the Foundation’s rules and the applicant’s procurement controls.
Potential West Virginia applicant: Rivers Health Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Point Pleasant that supports Rivers Health and rural healthcare in Mason County, including healthcare services, wellness programs, health education, and community screenings. Atlas Organization Opportunity Score: 97/100. Before any application or recipient outreach, the Foundation must confirm its one-application limitation, immediate-prior-cycle status, and the proposed project’s current eligibility.
