The Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville, in partnership with MartinFed, is accepting applications for the MartinConnects Fund 2026. The Alabama portion of the program is limited to Huntsville/Madison County.
Funding: Grants range from $2,000 to $8,000. Focus areas are Homelessness, STEM, Veterans, and Women & Children. Funding priorities include alignment with MartinFed’s mission and values, a recognized reputation for integrity in program implementation and financial management, project effectiveness, and a direct match to one of the MartinConnects focus areas.
Deadline: Applications must be submitted through the Community Foundation’s online grant portal by 5:00 p.m. CT on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
Eligibility: Grants must be made for charitable, scientific, literary, or educational purposes to IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) public charities. Schools, religious institutions, and government agencies also qualify when funds are used for a public purpose.
Eligible costs: Program costs for new or existing programs and reasonable staff or volunteer time and training associated with implementation. Published ineligible expenses include grants to individuals, debt reduction, endowment campaigns, capital campaigns, annual campaigns, fundraising events or galas, membership drives, conference expenses, and political or lobbying activity.
Submission and administration: Applications are submitted electronically through the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville’s Foundant grant portal. Award decisions are made by the MartinConnects Grants Committee. Successful grantees must execute a Grant Agreement and report on grant use and measurable outcomes.
