The Western Kansas Community Foundation (WKCF) is accepting Community Grant applications for its November 2026 funding cycle. The program supports charitable organizations and public entities serving WKCF’s 15-county western Kansas service area.
Funding
Community Grant awards typically do not exceed $10,000. WKCF may review larger requests, but applicants are advised to anticipate awards within the range not exceeding $10,000 per award.
Deadline
Applications are due November 1, 2026 by 11:59 PM through WKCF’s online grant system. The current official guidelines do not state a time zone.
Eligible Applicants and Geography
WKCF restricts support to 501(c)(3) or other exempt organizations or groups, or government equivalents such as public schools and city, county, or state entities, serving Kansas counties within the Foundation’s service area. The 15-county service area includes Finney, Grant, Gray, Greeley, Hamilton, Haskell, Kearny, Lane, Meade, Morton, Scott, Seward, Stanton, Stevens, and Wichita counties.
Program Scope
The Community Grant application may support operating needs, programmatic needs, or a combination of both. WKCF accepts one Community Grant request per organization per funding period. Organizations that receive a Community Grant are not eligible for the next Community Grant cycle unless previously awarded funds have been fully expended and final reporting has been submitted.
Key Restrictions
Current guidelines exclude uses including capital campaigns, medical research, internal studies or research, scholarships or fellowships, membership fees, fundraising ticket sales, religious purposes, capital debt reduction, lobbying or advocacy activity, endowment, discretionary regranting, prizes or incentives, and discriminatory projects.
