The Oregon Office of Rural Health at Oregon Health & Science University is accepting applications for the Oregon Health Care Provider Loan Repayment Program. The current cycle closes September 14, 2026 at 12:00 PM Pacific Time. Complete applications and required attachments received after the deadline roll to the next cycle. OHSU states that the next cycle opens September 15, 2026 and closes January 11, 2027 at 12:00 PM Pacific Time.
Funding
For a minimum three year service commitment at a qualifying Oregon practice site, full time providers may receive 70 percent of qualifying educational loan debt, up to $50,000 per service year. Part time providers may receive 35 percent of qualifying debt, up to $25,000 per service year. OHSU applies lower caps to providers with smaller qualifying debt balances. No applicant cash cost share is stated; the principal obligation is the required service commitment.
Who can apply
Eligible provider categories include dentists, expanded practice dental hygienists, dental assistants, dental therapists, pharmacists, physicians in qualifying primary care specialties, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, licensed clinical social workers, licensed marriage and family therapists, licensed professional counselors, psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, and CADC III providers. Applicants must provide qualifying primary care outpatient services at an eligible Oregon practice site.
Site requirements
The practice site must satisfy the program’s shortage or underserved criteria and maintain a valid Site Application. OHSU states that sites must have submitted a Site Application within the prior 24 months or otherwise meet the current site confirmation requirements.

Providers apply online through the OHSU Provider Application and must submit the current required supporting attachments. Applicants should verify that their practice site is qualified before relying on eligibility.
