The McMurry Foundation accepts grant inquiries throughout the year from qualified Wyoming nonprofit organizations, with current funding concentrated primarily in Natrona County. Health and Human Services is an express funding priority alongside education, children and child advocacy, arts and humanities, religion, and community and economic development.
Funding and timing
Applicants may begin the process at any time during the year. The Foundation states that applications are considered at its next scheduled board meeting after review. The current public guidance does not publish a fixed application deadline, exact closing time, per-grant minimum or maximum, total current-cycle funding pool, or mandatory match/cost-share requirement. Atlas does not infer any of those items from historic aggregate giving.
Eligibility and geography
All applicant organizations must have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. The Foundation says it currently is primarily funding nonprofit organizations in Natrona County. Organizations outside Natrona County may submit a brief project summary for possible later consideration, but should not treat that as equivalent to current priority eligibility.
The Foundation does not make grants to individuals, organizations whose primary purpose is to influence legislation, or political causes, candidates, organizations, or campaigns.
Application process
The process is three-stage. First, an applicant completes the Foundation’s online eligibility quiz. Second, every organization must submit an online Letter of Inquiry. If the LOI is accepted, the Foundation may invite a full online application and may request additional supporting material. Depending on the proposal, Foundation staff may also schedule a site visit or meeting with organizational leadership.

The Foundation’s public guidance does not publish a standardized list of required attachments, procurement rules, references, or cost categories for every proposal; documentation varies by purpose and may be requested during review.
Reporting
If funded, the grantee must submit a grant report within 12 months of the project start date stated in the application or within one month after the project ends, whichever is sooner.
Healthcare and community fit
The Foundation’s Health & Human Services priority supports programs intended to relieve suffering, improve living conditions for people and families facing transition or crisis, address causes or prevention of social and economic problems, and provide basic human, social, and physical services. Its published historical grantee lists include Central Wyoming Hospice Program, Community Health Center of Central Wyoming, Natrona County Health Department, Wyoming Breast Cancer Initiative Foundation, Wyoming Foundation for Cancer Care, Wyoming Dementia Care, Special Olympics Wyoming, and other health and human-services organizations.
