Opportunity Overview
The Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund 2026 is currently accepting applications from eligible organizations serving Weyerhaeuser communities. In Vermont, the official Giving Fund geography is limited to the company’s timberlands footprint in Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans counties. Relevant funding focus areas for the Vermont Atlas lane include Education and Youth Development, Human Services, Workforce Development, Affordable Housing, and other community priorities.
Funding
The minimum grant awarded is $1,000. Weyerhaeuser does not publish an applicant-level maximum or a Vermont-specific 2026 funding pool. Award size varies based on the company’s local presence and the philanthropic budget available for the year.
Deadline and Submission
Applications for the 2026 cycle are due September 30, 2026. The controlling public page does not state an exact closing time or time zone, so Atlas does not infer one. Applications must be submitted through Weyerhaeuser’s online portal with all required attachments; paper applications and proposals are not accepted.
Eligibility
A funded program must serve a Weyerhaeuser community. Eligible U.S. applicants are tax-exempt nonprofit public charities classified under IRC 501(c)(3), public education institutions, or government entities qualified under IRC 170(c)(1). For Vermont, the organization or project must serve the eligible Caledonia, Essex, or Orleans County footprint.
Application Requirements
Applicants should be prepared to provide the organization’s Tax ID, organizational and contact information, a detailed description of the funding request, financial information for the organization and proposed project, an updated W-9, and the attachments required by the portal. The public criteria do not state a mandatory applicant match or cost-share percentage.
Key Exclusions
The Giving Fund does not support general administrative or indirect overhead, projects outside Weyerhaeuser communities, individuals, sports teams or athletic events, operating deficits or debt liquidation, endowments and memorials, capital campaigns, multiyear requests, or services the public sector is reasonably expected to provide, among other listed exclusions.
Atlas Assessment
Atlas Opportunity Score: 72/100. This is a credible, currently open Vermont education, youth-development, workforce, and human-services funding source with a concrete September 2026 deadline and clearly defined Vermont geography. The score is moderated by the three-county footprint, locally determined priorities, and the absence of a published applicant maximum or Vermont funding pool.
N9+ Fit: 0/100. The current Giving Fund criteria do not establish a defensible remote physical examination, telehealth, clinical technology, or medical-device funding pathway. Atlas should not manufacture an N9+ use case.
QC Healthcare Fit: 0/100. The program is not a clinical staffing or healthcare-services procurement. A healthcare or human-services organization may be eligible based on its charitable/community project, but QC Healthcare is not a direct fit on the verified criteria.
Potential Vermont Applicants
North Country Supervisory Union is a realistic public-education candidate because it operates Vermont public schools in the Northeast Kingdom, including schools within the eligible Orleans and Essex County footprint. Its current Superintendent is Elaine Collins; an official NCSU page lists elaine.collins@ncsuvt.org. Any pursuit still requires a real, non-routine project that fits Weyerhaeuser’s criteria and is not a service the public sector is reasonably expected to provide.
Northeast Kingdom Human Services is a realistic human-services candidate because it is a Vermont Designated Agency serving all communities in Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans counties and provides mental-health, developmental, substance-use, child/youth/family, and school-based services. Its current Chief Executive Officer is Kelsey Stavseth. Applicant tax status, a specific organization-controlled project, and the appropriate grant-routing contact must be confirmed before any outreach or applicant record is created.
Direct Vendor Review
Dr. Miltie, LLC is not a direct eligible applicant under the published U.S. applicant categories. Any Dr. Miltie role would have to arise from an eligible applicant’s independently defined project and would require separate confirmation that the cost is allowable. No direct-vendor pursuit is established from the current criteria.
