Opportunity Overview
The Laurance & Mary Rockefeller Fund 2026 Grant Cycle, administered by the Vermont Community Foundation, supports organizations working to preserve and enhance the physical, cultural, spiritual and wellness environment of Barnard, Bridgewater, Hartland, Killington, Plymouth, Pomfret, Reading and Woodstock.
Funding
Grants range from $1,000 to $5,000. The Fund considers both general operating and project/program support. It does not fund individuals or capital or endowment campaigns. The current program page does not publish a total 2026 funding pool or mandatory match/cost-share requirement.
Who Can Apply
Applicants must serve one or more of the eight eligible Vermont communities: Barnard, Bridgewater, Hartland, Killington, Plymouth, Pomfret, Reading or Woodstock. Applicants must also satisfy the Vermont Community Foundation’s general applicant guidelines and requirements.
Deadline and Application Process
Applications are accepted September 1 through October 13, 2026 at 5:00 PM. The controlling program page and current application sample do not state a time zone. Applications must be submitted electronically through the Vermont Community Foundation Online Grants Manager and are not accepted by mail or email. Notifications and awards are expected in January 2027, and funded activities must take place between January 2027 and January 2028.
Current Application Requirements
The current 2026 application asks for the project or general-operating request, amount, eligible communities served, project description, beneficiaries, goals, other funding sources, and how the proposal leverages a new idea or other dollars. Project requests require an itemized PDF project budget showing expenses, revenue, and pending or secured funding; general operating requests do not require a project budget. Applicants must also upload the current-fiscal-year organizational operating budget. Grants must be paid to a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, place of worship/religious group, or town/municipal agency; other groups need an eligible fiscal sponsor and the official VCF fiscal-sponsor form.
N9+ and QC Healthcare Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 52/100. This is a verified open Vermont community-wellness funding source with a clear deadline, but award size is modest and the wellness language is broad rather than a dedicated healthcare or school-health program.
N9+ Fit: 8/100. The current guidelines do not identify healthcare technology, telehealth, remote physical examination or clinical equipment as a priority. Atlas should not position the Nonagon N9+ unless a qualifying local applicant has a specific wellness project and the Foundation confirms that the proposed technology cost fits the program.
QC Healthcare Fit: 5/100. Any service role would require a concrete applicant-led wellness project and explicit fit with the Fund’s rules.
Direct Vendor Review
This is not a direct Dr. Miltie procurement. Any potential Dr. Miltie or QC Healthcare role would be secondary to an eligible local applicant and should not be advanced without a specific, legitimate project need.
Next Action
Eligible organizations should confirm service to at least one covered community, define the proposed operating or project need, review the Vermont Community Foundation general applicant requirements, and submit through the Online Grants Manager by October 13, 2026 at 5:00 PM. Do not infer a deadline time zone that the funder has not published.
