USDA Rural Development currently lists the Denali Commission High Energy Cost Grants program as open. USDA partners with the Denali Commission to reduce energy costs in remote Alaska communities with exceptionally high household energy costs.
Rural Community and Health Relevance
Eligible pass-through investments may support energy generation, transmission, and distribution serving remote Alaska communities. More reliable and affordable energy can support rural hospitals, clinics, EMS, schools, and other critical community facilities, but those organizations are not direct applicants to USDA under this authorization.
Applicant and Pass-Through Structure
Only the Denali Commission may apply directly to USDA Rural Development for this grant authorization.
