The South Carolina FY2027 Recreational Trails Program is administered by SCPRT under Federal Highway Administration approval.
Deadline
Pre-applications opened September 10, 2026 and are due October 8, 2026 through SCPRT WebGrants. Applicants that advance must attend one mandatory application workshop on October 14 or November 4, 2026.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants include local, state, and federal governmental agencies, qualified private organizations, and registered nonprofits.
Funding
Funding is cost reimbursement. Recipients pay eligible costs first and may request reimbursement for 80% of eligible costs. The current official program page does not state a universal maximum award amount.
Eligible Projects
Eligible work includes new recreational trails, improvements or maintenance of existing trails, trailhead or trailside facilities, and acquisition of trail corridors. Priority is given to connections or extensions for trail systems at least 10 miles long and projects in low income areas.
