Opportunity Overview
The South Carolina Arts Commission Art of Community: Rural SC Grant supports arts based projects that engage rural communities and use the arts to address local challenges. Projects must serve the applicant’s rural community, include a public engagement component, and use a project steering committee.
Funding and Deadline
Funding is available up to $5,000. The application period runs through March 25, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Applications must be submitted at least five weeks before grant funded activities begin or purchases are made.
Eligibility
Most South Carolina nonprofit organizations, colleges and universities, public libraries, and units of government may apply, subject to the program’s detailed eligibility requirements. Schools, school districts, and individual artists are not eligible.
Matching Requirement
The match varies by county tier. Tier 1 counties have no match. Tier 2 counties require a 1:3 grantee to SCAC match. Tier 3 counties require a 1:2 grantee to SCAC match. Federal funds and other SCAC grants cannot be used as match.
Atlas Assessment
Atlas Opportunity Score: 42/100. N9+ Fit Score: 0/100. This is a valid rural community funding opportunity but it is arts restricted, capped at $5,000, and does not establish a legitimate N9+ or QC Healthcare role.
