2026 Pathways to Impact Grants for North Philadelphia Nonprofits
The Leon H. Sullivan Charitable Trust is accepting 2026 Pathways to Impact Grant applications from qualifying Philadelphia nonprofit organizations conducting community-led projects in education, workforce development, economic mobility and social justice. This is a legitimate direct charitable grant for nonprofit applicants, not a purchasing or vendor contract.
Applicant grant amount and disbursement
Each selected nonprofit receives a $10,000 grant. The official program does not announce a larger statewide funding pool or any greater individual ceiling. Disbursement occurs in two installments of $5,000: the first after the grant agreement; the second after the required grantee award reception and attendance at least two of three Growth + Building Capacity Workshops. These required events and follow-up reporting are important grant conditions, not optional promotional benefits.
Applicant qualifications and geographic restrictions
Applicants must be registered nonprofit organizations located in Philadelphia with an IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter, at least one year of operating history, capacity to manage and report on funding, and demonstrated measurable community engagement. The current funder’s FAQ further limits applicants to organizations with annual revenues not exceeding $250,000. Work must benefit North Philadelphia communities; priority ZIP codes include 19121, 19122, 19123, 19125, 19130, 19132, 19133 and 19140. Remote/online nonprofits still need a valid Philadelphia mailing address associated with the organization. This is not a general national small-business grant.
Allowable work, exclusions and match
Projects should have clear measurable goals and advance education, workforce opportunity, economic mobility, social justice or related community empowerment, with realistic implementation and long-term benefit. The funder explicitly describes program implementation, community engagement, capacity building and project-related resources as uses of the $10,000 award. Funds cannot be used for debt repayment, fundraising events, political or lobbying activity, or work unrelated to the nonprofit’s mission. No mandatory matching-funds percentage is published in the funder’s current instructions; applicants should confirm any project-specific budget needs directly with the Trust.
Application and timeline
Applications opened October 12, 2026 and close November 13, 2026. The current official page does not publish an exact submission cutoff hour or time zone; submit well before the date and verify the application portal’s closing time. Apply through the Trust’s official Pathways to Impact webpage and the linked online form. Required items are a completed application, project description with objectives and expected outcomes, itemized budget using the posted template, IRS determination letter and latest IRS Form 990 or financial statement. Incomplete and late applications may be excluded.
Award announcements are anticipated December 11, 2026. Grant recipients must attend the award reception, at least two of three required workshops, submit an interim progress and fund-use report, and participate in one organization site visit. Organizations may submit one application per calendar year; later funding is not guaranteed.
