Broad Eligibility

Pennsylvania volunteer and career fire companies, eligible emergency medical services, and volunteer rescue squads may apply. For the EMS grant, the service must be designated by the municipality as its primary EMS provider. Basic Life Support Squads and Quick Response Services are not eligible. Eligible EMS projects include facility improvements and support services necessary to maintain or improve EMS capability, purchase or repair of ambulance equipment, debt reduction tied to eligible completed projects, member training/certification, community-risk-reduction education, and recruitment/retention. Eligible 2026-27 project costs must be at least $2,500.
