The Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund is accepting 2026 applications from qualifying organizations in Oregon communities where Weyerhaeuser has operations or forestland. Relevant Atlas focus areas include education and youth development and human services, with additional Giving Fund priorities including affordable housing, workforce development, inclusion, environmental stewardship, and civic and cultural growth.
Funding and deadline
Weyerhaeuser states that grant amounts vary by community and available philanthropic budget. The minimum grant awarded is $1,000; no universal maximum is published. For 2026, applications are due September 30, 2026. The official Giving Fund page does not publish a closing clock time or time zone.
Eligible Oregon geography
Oregon facility communities include Cottage Grove, Eugene, Springfield, Albany, Lebanon, and Sweet Home. Weyerhaeuser also lists Oregon timberland eligibility in Benton, Clackamas, Clatsop, Columbia, Coos, Douglas, Lane, Lincoln, Linn, Marion, Multnomah, Polk, Tillamook, Washington, and Yamhill counties. Applicants should verify that the project serves a qualifying Weyerhaeuser community.
Who can apply
Eligible U.S. applicants include tax-exempt 501(c)(3) public charities and public education institutions or government entities qualified under IRC Section 170(c)(1). Programs must serve a Weyerhaeuser community and align with a Giving Fund focus area. Preference is given to projects serving a broad range of residents, meeting an important community need, demonstrating support from community leaders and other funders, showing sustainability and organizational competence, and producing significant measurable quality-of-life impact.
Key restrictions
The Giving Fund does not support general administrative/indirect costs, projects outside Weyerhaeuser communities, individuals, lobbying, theological purposes, fundraising-event sponsorships, sports teams or athletic events, operating deficits or debt liquidation, endowments, capital campaigns, multiyear requests, or services that the public sector is reasonably expected to provide.
Application requirements
Applications must be completed through Weyerhaeuser’s online portal with required attachments. The current public instructions identify the organization’s Tax ID, contact information, organization details, detailed request information, organization and project financial information, and an updated IRS W-9 for U.S. applicants as essential application materials.
Atlas analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 80/100. This is a useful Oregon education/youth and human-services funding source with broad qualifying applicant classes and a defined Oregon footprint. N9+ Fit Score: 30/100 conditional. Weyerhaeuser has publicly documented Giving Fund support for rural Oregon fire districts purchasing rescue and medical tools, so equipment can be relevant in some community projects; however, no universal medical-equipment allowance or applicant-specific remote-exam use case should be assumed. Direct Dr. Miltie applicant fit: 0/100 under the published charitable/public-entity eligibility rules.
Outreach control: do not begin new applicant outreach until the exact September 30 closing clock time and time zone are authoritatively verified.
