Roundhouse Foundation — 2026 Technical Assistance and Professional Development Grants
Roundhouse Foundation offers eligible rural Oregon organizations up to $5,000 per applicant for qualifying organizational capacity improvements, workforce development and technical assistance. This applicant-facing grant supports mission-related community services, not vendor procurement.
Funding and allowable activities
Eligible requests can fund outside consultants preparing strategic, fundraising or succession plans; professional development such as a conference or specialized training for one staff member or board member; or a highly specialized tool, software package or other equipment necessary for organizational operations. Only one application opportunity per organization is considered. The program does not ordinarily reimburse projects that were already completed or paid for. Any request above available funds may be reduced, and applicants should right-size the proposed amount. The application asks whether other funds will cover the balance; it does not prescribe a fixed percentage match.
Eligible applicants and priorities
Eligible applicant types include 501(c)(3) public charities, qualifying fiscally sponsored groups, government agencies including special districts, and Tribal governments serving rural Oregon. The foundation prioritizes previous Roundhouse grantees and organizations focused on journalism/storytelling, arts/culture/heritage including libraries, rural fire or emergency services, and food banks or food pantries. In the food-access priority, partners must be affiliated with an Oregon Regional Food Bank. Applicants aligned with those initiatives need not be prior Roundhouse grantees. Individuals, religious or faith-based organizations and political activities are not eligible.
2026 application window and required documents
Applications are accepted from January through November 30, 2026, or until budget-year funding is exhausted. The foundation reviews applications monthly; decisions generally require 4–8 weeks. Applications must use the funder’s grant portal, not the question-list PDF. Supply a clear description of one opportunity and its costs/timeline, request amount up to $5,000, plus at least one supporting scope of work, equipment quote, or training/conference agenda. Professional development requires a separate letter of support from an executive director, supervisor or board member. New applicants may need an operating budget, governing board roster and mission summary. Sponsored applicants must provide a signed fiscal sponsorship agreement; government/Tribal entities may require a W-9. Funded projects should usually take place within 12 months after submission, and the final report is due within two months after the activity finishes.
