Opportunity Overview
The Tahlequah Community Fund (TCF), managed by Communities Foundation of Oklahoma (CFO), is accepting applications for its 2026 annual grant cycle. The current 2026 CFO application page prioritizes action-oriented programs in arts, education, culture, health and wellness, community beautification and development, leadership, conservation, and human services. TCF’s evergreen community page also gives preference to projects benefiting education, children, community wellbeing, and quality of life.
Funding and Deadline
Grant proposals are capped at $3,500. The current 2026 CFO application page states that the cycle opened August 1 and closes September 30, 2026. It does not publish an exact closing time or time zone. An older evergreen TCF policy PDF says annual applications historically ended at noon on the last Friday of September; because that conflicts with the specific 2026 announcement, Atlas treats the current 2026 CFO page as controlling and requires a fresh deadline recheck before submission.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants are charitable organizations recognized as tax-exempt under IRC Section 501(c)(3), public schools, and governmental entities serving the Tahlequah community. The grant policy excludes individuals, unrestricted or administrative operating expenses, religious activities, trainings, political lobbying or legislative activities, endowments, membership dues, fundraising activities or events, and organizations or projects with discriminatory practices.
Submission and Post-Award Requirements
Applications must be submitted through Communities Foundation of Oklahoma’s online grant portal. The current 2026 page requires recipients to submit a follow-up report within 90 days of receiving funds; failure to do so results in future ineligibility. TCF may conduct interviews or site visits and may request information from identified staff, partners, or funding sources. The current public landing page does not publish a solicitation number, mandatory match/cost-share requirement, or a complete portal-only forms/attachments checklist, so Atlas will not invent those requirements.

A vendor role would be possible only if an independently eligible Tahlequah organization has a legitimate project need and TCF confirms the specific cost as allowable. Realistic Applicant Screening Candidates
Tahlequah Public Schools is a verified public-school candidate, and the City of Tahlequah is a verified municipal-government candidate. Locally serving 501(c)(3) nonprofits may also qualify when their proposed work falls within TCF priorities. These are screening candidates only.
