Opportunity Summary
The Lawton Community Foundation, an affiliate of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, currently accepts Community Grant inquiries for programs and projects in Lawton and surrounding areas that improve quality of life and create opportunities for residents. Qualified projects may receive up to $5,000. The current public page instructs prospective applicants to email a brief project explanation and states that the Foundation will then provide a link to the grant application. The current public materials do not publish a specific application deadline, exact cutoff time, or time zone.
Eligibility
Applicants must be organizations in the Lawton area serving primarily Lawton area residents and must be Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)(3) public charities or subsidiaries of state or local government. Private foundations and economic development organizations are not eligible. An organization may submit only one application for each deadline.
Funding and Project Requirements
Community Grants are available up to $5,000. Projects should be new or a significant expansion of a current effort, benefit a broad range of community members, have support from other community resources, and provide a significant permanent program or community improvement opportunity. A request may support a capital item or a program using one time funding. If additional funds are needed to complete the project, those funds must be committed before an award is made. The Foundation does not publish a fixed matching percentage or cash share requirement for this Community Grants pathway.
Allowable and Excluded Costs
Published guidelines allow construction, equipment purchases, contract services directly related to a specific program, and other direct program expenses. Funds are not intended for organizational overhead including salaries, travel, existing debt, completion of other programs, fundraising events, narrowly focused scholarships or research, activities or facilities limited to participants in a single program, or operational expenses.
Healthcare and N9+ Fit
Atlas assigns an N9+ Fit Score of 63/100. Equipment purchases are expressly allowable, and the Foundation reports a recent $5,000 Community Grant to Hearts That Care Volunteer Health Clinic to purchase new technology and upgrade existing systems for growing patient needs. This demonstrates a legitimate health technology pathway. However, the Foundation does not expressly identify telehealth, remote examination technology, medical devices, platform fees, implementation, or the Nonagon N9+ device and platform as approved costs. Any N9+ role must therefore be applicant led, tied to a qualifying Lawton area project, and confirmed for project specific allowability before outreach or budgeting.
Submission Mechanics and Required Project Information
Prospective applicants first email the Foundation with a brief explanation of the project for which funding is sought. The Foundation then provides the grant application link. The published guidelines require project goals, specific activities, a budget showing income and expenses, expected outcomes, and approval of the project by the sponsoring organization’s board. The current public materials do not publish a universal attachment checklist, so the live application provided by the Foundation controls any additional required forms or attachments.
Direct Vendor Review
Dr. Miltie, LLC and QC Healthcare are not eligible direct applicants under the published applicant categories. A defensible role is limited to an applicant selected vendor or technology partner for a qualifying Lawton area public charity or governmental entity after the applicant defines the project and the Foundation confirms the proposed technology and vendor costs are allowable.
Atlas Scoring
Atlas Opportunity Score: 78/100. N9+ Fit Score: 63/100. The opportunity is verified open for current inquiry intake, permits equipment and program related contract services, and has a recent health clinic technology award. The $5,000 ceiling, absence of an express clinical technology priority, and lack of a published current deadline keep the N9+ fit conditional and below the normal outreach preference threshold.
Atlas Next Step
Maintain publication and screen only applicant controlled Lawton area projects with a documented need. Before any outreach, verify the current application deadline directly with the Foundation, confirm applicant eligibility and project specific technology allowability, complete CRM and Atlas Email Queue deduplication, and satisfy all contact, opt out, bounce, and two PDF gates.
