Opportunity Overview
The Northwest Louisiana Master Gardener Association, Inc. is accepting 2026 Community Grant applications for horticultural education, community and school gardens, public green spaces, environmental improvement activities, and related public horticulture projects in Bossier, Caddo, DeSoto, and Red River parishes.
Funding
Applicants may request $300 to $6,000. The number and size of awards depend on available funds and the quality of eligible applications, and NWLAMG may provide full or partial funding.
Deadline
Completed applications and all required documentation are due October 30, 2026 by email to the Community Grants Committee. The controlling materials do not state a closing clock time or time zone, so Atlas does not infer one.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants include municipalities and other government entities, schools, neighborhood and garden associations, qualifying nonprofit organizations including current 501(c)(3) charities, and faith-based organizations serving the public on a non-denominational basis. The applicant must be located in Bossier, Caddo, DeSoto, or Red River Parish. Individuals, private foundations, political organizations, non-501(c)(3) nonprofits, and for-profit entities are not eligible.
Allowable and Ineligible Costs
Eligible projects may include materials for new or expanded gardens and green spaces and educational programs or materials directly related to gardening or horticulture. The program does not fund endowments, capital campaigns, operating expenses, salaries, property purchase or rental, power equipment, grading or drainage projects, maintenance projects or materials, or expenses unrelated to a garden or horticulture project.
Application Requirements
The official application requires the completed application form in Word or PDF, a project budget, photographs and graphics of the site or project when available, 501(c)(3) documentation for nonprofit applicants, and the signed Donation and Grant Application Agreement. The narrative requests project goals, location, land-use permission, timeline, population served, accessibility, collaboration, volunteer participation, sustainability and maintenance plans, and the organization mission. Matching contributions are not mandatory, but direct or in-kind matching contributions and community collaboration are identified as favorable selection factors.
