Opportunity Overview
The HCWGMW Endowment, a donor advised fund administered by the North Carolina Community Foundation (NCCF) and part of the Northern Albemarle Community Foundation family of funds, is accepting applications for its 2026 grant cycle. Funding supports new or existing projects and programs focused on youth development and/or eliminating the cycle of poverty for youth in Camden, Gates, Pasquotank, and Perquimans counties.
Camden and Gates counties are newly eligible in 2026. Organizations do not have to be physically based in an eligible county if they serve youth there.
Funding
NCCF states that the endowment expects to provide $150,000 in total funding in 2026. Individual grants typically range from $5,000 to $30,000. The controlling materials describe this as a typical award range rather than a guaranteed minimum or maximum for every applicant.
Deadline
Applications are due October 13, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time. NCCF’s community grantmaking rules state that all application based cycles close at noon Eastern Time on the closing date.
Eligibility
Under NCCF’s current community grantmaking rules, eligible applicant types include 501(c)(3) public charities, organizations using an eligible 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor, local governments including public schools, fire and rescue departments, and qualifying religious entities. Applicants must serve the counties covered by the relevant NCCF program and must provide services without prohibited discrimination.
For the HCWGMW Endowment specifically, the proposed work must serve youth in Camden, Gates, Pasquotank, or Perquimans County and focus on youth development and/or breaking the cycle of poverty for youth. Collaborations with other charitable organizations are encouraged.
Match and Cost Share
The current HCWGMW program page, NCCF community grantmaking guidelines, and 2026 sample application do not state a fixed mandatory applicant match or cost share percentage. The application asks for the total project or operating budget and whether the applicant will accept partial funding, but Atlas did not identify a universal matching requirement in the controlling materials.
Allowable and Restricted Uses
NCCF community grantmaking generally accepts requests for specific programs and projects or general operating support unless a particular fund states otherwise. Costs incurred before the application deadline are not reimbursable. NCCF also excludes annual fund or capital campaigns, political purposes or lobbying, loans, direct benefit to named individuals, applicant regranting, activities restricted to a particular faith community or promoting religious doctrine, and general operating support for religious entities.
Submission Mechanics
Applications must be submitted through the NCCF Grant Application Portal. After logging in, applicants select Apply, enter access code hcwgmw, choose the 2026 HCWGMW Fund process, complete the online application, and click Submit before the deadline. Saving an application does not submit it. The portal sends a confirmation email after successful submission.
Required Application Materials
The current NCCF community grantmaking application requires organization and proposal information, request amount, total project or operating budget, project dates, narrative responses, and a required budget attachment appropriate to the request type. Program or project applicants use NCCF’s Program/Project Budget Template. General operating applicants use the organizational budget template or, where permitted by the current application, the organization’s most recent IRS Form 990, 990-N, or 990-EZ.
If an applicant uses a fiscal sponsor, supporting documentation must verify the relationship, financial and legal responsibilities, program management responsibilities, relationship date, and signatures from both parties. If the HCWGMW proposal is a collaboration with another charitable organization, the program page states that a letter of support from the collaborating organization is required. The application also allows optional supporting documentation and requires an authorized digital signature at submission. Applicants should rely on the live HCWGMW portal for any program-specific field or attachment that differs from NCCF’s published sample application.
Atlas Fit Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 72/100. This is a verified, open North Carolina foundation opportunity with a defined rural service area, a clear youth-development mission, a meaningful local funding pool, and eligibility that includes public schools and nonprofits. The score is moderated by the relatively small individual award range and the absence of a clear healthcare technology priority.
N9+ Fit Score: 0/100. Atlas does not force product fit. The controlling program materials focus on youth development and breaking the cycle of poverty and do not identify clinical technology, connected diagnostics, telehealth equipment, or healthcare delivery as a funding priority. A project centered on the Nonagon N9+ device and platform would therefore not be supported by the available evidence.
Dr. Miltie / QC Healthcare Review
Dr. Miltie/QC Healthcare is not advanced as a direct applicant or vendor for this opportunity. The current eligibility structure is designed for charitable organizations and specified public/community entities, and Atlas found no defensible direct vendor or N9+ pathway in the controlling materials.
Applicant Outreach Classification
This opportunity is publish only for the current Atlas lane. Although more than 48 hours remain before the verified deadline, the available evidence does not support a sufficiently strong N9+ or QC Healthcare role to justify cold applicant outreach without forcing fit.
Amendment and Source Control
Atlas did not identify a separately posted amendment changing the 2026 service area, deadline, or application process as of September 13, 2026. The live NCCF program page and Grant Application Portal remain controlling for applicant-specific updates.
