Opportunity Overview
The HCWGMW Endowment, a donor advised fund administered by the North Carolina Community Foundation, is accepting 2026 applications for new or existing projects and programs focused on youth development and/or eliminating the cycle of poverty for youth in Camden, Gates, Pasquotank and Perquimans counties. Organizations do not have to be based in those counties if the proposed work serves eligible youth there.
Funding
NCCF states that the endowment expects to provide approximately $150,000 total in 2026 funding. Grants typically range from $5,000 to $30,000. The published range is described as typical rather than a hard per-applicant maximum, so Atlas does not treat $30,000 as an absolute cap.
Deadline
Applications are accepted from September 11, 2026 through October 13, 2026 at 12:00 PM Eastern Time. NCCF’s community grantmaking guidance expressly states that all application cycles close at 12 p.m. Eastern Time on the closing date.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants under NCCF community grantmaking include 501(c)(3) public charities, organizations with an eligible 501(c)(3) fiscal sponsor, local governments including public schools, fire and rescue departments, and eligible religious entities, subject to NCCF’s restrictions. Applicants must serve youth in Camden, Gates, Pasquotank or Perquimans counties and must offer programs and services without discrimination. The HCWGMW fund encourages collaboration with other charitable organizations.
Allowable Requests and Restrictions
NCCF community grantmaking generally accepts specific program/project requests and general operating support unless the individual fund states otherwise. Grants are not awarded for annual fund or capital campaigns, political purposes or lobbying, restricted faith activities, loans, reimbursement of costs incurred before the application deadline, direct benefit of named individuals, or re-granting. General operating support is restricted for certain religious entities and faith-based organizations as described in the NCCF guidelines.
Match / Cost Share
The controlling HCWGMW page and NCCF community grantmaking guidelines reviewed by Atlas do not state a mandatory applicant match or cost-share requirement. Atlas does not infer one.
Application and Required Materials
Applications must be submitted through the NCCF Grant Application Portal. After logging in, applicants select Apply and enter access code hcwgmw to access the 2026 HCWGMW Fund application. The current NCCF sample community-grant application requires organization and project information, a request summary, detailed proposal narrative, amount requested, total program/project budget, project dates, terms and certifications, and a digital signature.
A budget attachment is required. Program/project applicants must use the NCCF Program/Project Budget Template; general operating applicants must use the applicable NCCF organizational budget template or the allowed current IRS Form 990 option described in the application. Fiscally sponsored applicants must upload documentation from the fiscal sponsor establishing the relationship and responsibilities. The HCWGMW program page further states that letters of support from collaborating organizations are required when an applicant is working in collaboration. Optional additional supporting documents may be uploaded within the stated file rules.
Atlas Fit Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 74/100. This is a verified, currently open North Carolina education/youth-development opportunity with a clear geographic target, a meaningful 2026 funding pool, public-school eligibility and a defined online application process. Its score is moderated because awards are modest and the program is broad rather than healthcare-specific.
N9+ Fit Score: 2/100. Atlas does not force a clinical-device fit. A school or youth-serving organization could conceivably propose a health-related youth program if it genuinely advances the fund’s stated youth-development or poverty-reduction purpose, but the controlling materials do not establish a specific telehealth, diagnostics or clinical-equipment pathway. No Nonagon N9+ device and platform expense should be assumed eligible without project-specific confirmation.
Dr. Miltie / QC Healthcare Direct-Applicant Review
No direct Dr. Miltie/QC Healthcare applicant path is advanced. This opportunity is structured for charitable, public and community-serving applicants. Any future vendor or partner role would need to arise from a legitimate applicant-led project and confirmed cost allowability.
