Opportunity Overview
The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation is accepting applications for its 2026-27 Innovative Classroom Teaching Grants. The program supports innovative educational projects for Las Cruces Public Schools students and school communities.
Funding and Eligibility
Grants range from $200 to $4,999. Eligible applicants include LCPS teachers, principals, school administrators, social workers, counselors, librarians, ancillary personnel, and other LCPS educators who work with students on a daily basis. Applications may support an individual classroom or an entire school community.
The public guidance does not state a mandatory match or cost-share requirement. Atlas therefore does not infer one.
Allowable and Ineligible Uses
Approved uses include classroom or school projects, classroom materials, and educational field trips. Program categories include agriculture/horticulture, arts, literacy, STEM, student-centered technology, and educational field trips. The Foundation states that it will not consider professional development projects, salaries, stipends, printers, ink/toner, technology for staff, or educator travel expenses.
Deadline and Submission
The 2026-27 application opened August 3, 2026 and is due October 2, 2026. The controlling Foundation page does not publish an exact closing time or time zone, so Atlas does not infer either. Applications are submitted through the Foundation’s online Foundant/GrantInterface portal, which requires an applicant account. The complete portal-only form and attachment checklist are not publicly exposed without login and therefore are not fabricated here.
Grant awards are scheduled to be announced October 20, 2026, and funded projects must use grant funds by May 1, 2027. Recipients must complete a year-end report including a narrative, budget, and receipts.
Contacts and Amendments
The application portal lists director@lcpsf.org for questions. The Foundation also lists (575) 527-5888. No formal amendment or addendum is posted on the controlling public grant page as of Atlas verification.
Atlas Analysis
Atlas Opportunity Score: 68/100. This is a verified, open New Mexico K-12 education opportunity with clear funding and applicant eligibility, but the modest award ceiling and missing exact deadline time/time zone limit automated outreach readiness.
N9+ Fit Score: 5/100. Student-centered technology is eligible, but this program is not a healthcare, telehealth, or clinical-device grant. N9+ should not be force-fit.
Dr. Miltie/QC direct-applicant status: No Bid. Direct eligibility is restricted to LCPS educators and school personnel. Any vendor role would have to be independently selected and justified by an eligible LCPS applicant under district rules.
