Except in emergencies, the Trust generally does not make grants to the same organization in successive years.
Eligible and Disfavored Uses
The Trust’s official guidelines do not publish a closed list of eligible project categories. The New Hampshire Center for Nonprofits identifies health, education, children and youth, human services and hunger among the Trust’s areas of interest and notes support for project/program costs, equipment and building renovations. The controlling Trust guidelines state that requests for general operating or start-up expenses, feasibility studies, endowments, conferences, film/video production or deficit elimination are rarely considered.
Required Application Materials
Applicants submit a brief letter describing the project’s purpose, execution plan and requested amount. The Trust requires an itemized income-and-expense budget, the latest available audited financial statement, the tax filing specified in its guidelines, a copy of the IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter for nonprofit applicants, board-member names and titles when not otherwise included, and disclosure of other foundations approached and amounts requested or received.

The Trust explicitly says there is no need to spend funds on UPS, FedEx, express, priority, registered or certified mail.
