Open now. The Nevada Division of Public and Behavioral Health (DPBH), Primary Care Office administers the Nevada Conrad 30 J-1 Physician Visa Waiver Program to support physician recruitment into Nevada shortage and underserved settings. The most recently updated official program page, dated August 25, 2026, lists the current application period as October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026 and shows 21 currently available slots, including up to 10 Flex slots. Applications are accepted throughout the year on a first-come, first-served basis and may close earlier if all slots are filled or held in reserve.

Opportunity number: no separate Nevada solicitation or grant number is published. Applicant-relevant value: this is a non-cash immigration and physician-workforce benefit, not a cash grant. Nevada may support up to 30 J-1 physician waiver recommendations per federal fiscal year. The current official page shows 21 slots available.

Deadline: September 30, 2026, subject to earlier exhaustion of available slots. The official page does not publish an exact closing clock time or time zone, so applicants should confirm timing directly with the Nevada Primary Care Office rather than infer one.

Eligibility and service structure: the program supports qualifying Nevada employers and practice sites seeking J-1 physicians for primary or specialty care in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs), Medically Underserved Areas/Populations (MUA/Ps), or qualifying non-designated Flex sites serving underserved populations. Current linked instructions state that qualifying entities may submit up to three sponsorship requests per practice site per federal fiscal year; additional requests require special DPBH review.

For non-exempt practice sites, the current instructions require evidence that the site accepts patients regardless of ability to pay, accepts Medicaid, Nevada Check-Up and Medicare assignment, and maintains a sliding-fee-scale policy and posted notice. The linked instructions also require employer recruitment evidence showing that a suitable U.S. physician could not be found for at least two months before application, with a possible rural-emergency waiver in qualifying circumstances.

Employment contract requirements: the application must include a binding employment contract of at least three years. The physician must practice at least 40 hours per week in primary care or specialty medicine at the described site, excluding travel or on-call time. Compensation must meet or exceed the prevailing wage, supported by a current wage survey. The instructions prohibit a non-compete provision and require DPBH approval of contract amendments.

Submission and required materials: applicants first need a U.S. Department of State case number. Nevada requires an original physical application and a simultaneous electronic copy to nvpco@health.nv.gov, organized under the prescribed Tabs A-N and Sections 1-2. Current materials include the employer/physician Application Attestation Form, site and underserved-population evidence, candidate information and payer mix, recruitment documentation, Nevada medical-licensure evidence, HPSA/MUA/P or Flex documentation, CV, employer request letter asking DPBH to act as the Interested Government Agency, the binding employment contract, applicable home-government documentation, legal-representation documentation, DS-2019 and I-94 records, ECFMG/exam evidence, and federal Department of State waiver forms/barcodes. New-arrival, semiannual compliance, and change-of-status forms apply after approval or when circumstances change.

Application fee / match: this is not grant cost share. The current operational page labels its fee schedule as FFY 2025: $1,000 for nonprofit organizations and $2,000 for other applicants. The linked instructions say at least half must be employer-paid, with limited hardship/variance mechanisms described there.

Source-quality caution: DPBH currently has inconsistent cycle labeling across official pages. The newer page updated August 25, 2026 identifies the active period as FFY 2025 and reports 21 available slots; an older page updated April 15, 2026 labels the cycle FFY 2026 and reports 24 slots. The forms page also links instructions labeled FFY2025 while the PDF header says FFY 2024-2025. Atlas therefore treats the newer August 25 page and its 21-slot count as the current operational source, while advising applicants to confirm any cycle-sensitive requirement with the Primary Care Office.

N9+ Fit: 0/100. The program does not provide equipment, telehealth-technology, or remote-exam funding. N9+ should not be forced into this opportunity.

Atlas Opportunity Score: 93/100. This is a high-value Nevada physician recruitment and retention pathway with active capacity and clear workforce impact, but it is not a cash grant or vendor procurement. Dr. Miltie/QC Healthcare direct-vendor fit: 0/100. No credible direct-vendor pathway is established.
